I cannot open the video clip. In any case, I saw the news yesterday showing Konrad Mizzi describe all those specialists and staff as “fenomenali” as if they were some natural phenomenon like earthquakes or lightning.
I was immediately reminded of a certain owner of a private Maltese TV station who promotes all sorts of products like furniture and other stuff and according to whom all prices are “fenomenali” — typical meaningless Maltese hyperbole. Only Maltese, of the languages I speak, has invented a word for “the primest” — “l-iprem”.
The video clip is hilarious. Well done to whoever sent it in. The patronizing words and tone of voice used to describe the health service workers do not augur well. The PL never had much joy in dealing with unhappy doctors has it?
He mentioned podologists because his cousin is a podologist and is now an assistant lecturer at the Dept of Podology, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Malta reading for a PhD. That is why they are phenomenal.
He is the perfect material for satire, if Malta was a normal country. Anyway he is dumb and hilarious as he is – there is no need for the videos to be edited.
Did anyone notice how he calls Miriam Dalli of MaltaToday by name – it shows the degree of collusion that is going on between the regime and its propaganda mouthpiece.
Kif inhi din? no ‘super extra fenominali’ was a buzz phrase used by the then still a law student Dr Philip Farrugia Randon when he was a DJ on Redifussion in the early seventies.
That’s his knowledge of the health sector, nurses obviously, who doesn’t know what a nurse is, doctors, same reasoning and podologists, because he’s related to one.
What if someone asked him what is an occupational therapist, phlebotomist, haematologist or nephrologist?
It would be interesting to listen to his answers, probably hilarious, as someone further up said.
Hilarious!
Anzi. Fenomenali!
Hilarious.
Well, some good news and just in time because I need to get rid of a corn.
I need whoever made this video on my team.
Exactly.
Min ghamel dan il-video huwa fenomenali.
This explains Konrad’s Asian foot fetish.

L-iprem has been used for ages.
L-iprem cajta kienet meta hatar lil-Konrad bhala ministru tas-sahha.
L-iprem gidba li smajt kienet meta Konrad qal li se jkollu “handover” tajjeb minghand Godfrey.
Dawk il-proctologists il-vera fenomenali.

Wasn’t ‘super extra fenomimali’ a Norman Hamilton expression in the days when a certain health and energy drink was advertised?
It is a fact universally known that a government inclined to shoot itself in the foot repeatedly must be in want of a phenomenal podologist.
Is this guy normal?
No. Clearly.

I think he must have been reading your blog earlier in the day and got stuck on the “phenomenal” you mentioned. Filched it without realising.
“Mirr Yumm” must be a secret fan too.

Thank you for your clarification.
I find them a little bit unscrupuluos.

Is there another link to the video please? I cannot see the video!
Thanks
Wasn’t it Dan Peterson who had an advert on Italian TV in the 80’s who said those famous words while shaking a glass of ice tea: “… h-hmm fenomenale!”
