Il-mop u l-ixkupa fil-background. Priceless.
Dritt ghal gol-iskipp.
“Toe wards” the skip.
I am there for you too, Ciccio.
Elle gibbitty
I was focusing more on her blue eye shadow, bling and her floral patterns which make her look like an art nouveau tapestry.
Distressed Observer: you’re such a big bastard. You’ve probably just got that cleaner fired.
I like her hands.
Finger movement at 1:19 is really funny.
That’s sign language for “jugs” or “balls” isn’t it?
Do all Laburisti make use of teleprompters? At least Joseph Muscat tries to hide the fact but Mrs Mizzi makes it so darn obvious.
Switch off the volume and watch the body language and the rehearsed hand movements.
Pity you can’t photoshop video. There aren’t enough filters on the face of the earth.
L-aqwa il-lip gloss.
She seems undecided as to whether her LGBT sales pitch will alienate the homophobic vote. In reality, who gives a stuff about her sexual preferences. Deep down the message is clear and the target is Cyrus.
Cyrus Engerer is an opportunist and a fake
He collects signatures for the hunters’ cause then claims to be against hunting.
In the run-up to the Sliema Local Council he erected bill-boards in front of churches on Sundays then stated that he is a confirmed atheist.
Cyrus Engerer is not after helping any legitimate cause but his own. Ditch him.
“The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false face for the urge to rule it.” – Henry Louis Mencken
Is she going after the hunters next? According to Cyrus they are a minority, too.
Not that it’s important, but Ms. Mizzi, LGBT does not mean “members of a homosexual orientation”.
A transgender could still be attracted only to his/her opposite natal gender.
As a matter of fact, quite a few transgender people would rather not be associated with LGB at all, since their issue is one of gender identity, not sexual orientation. But, of course, why would Ms Mizzi waste time doing her research? It’s done wonders for her party so far.
You have it from the horse’s mouth.
Marlene Mizzi MEP is heterosexual.
She’s probably still fantasising about Mario Balotelli and Gabriel Garko.
First they were homosexual.
Then they became gay.
Now they are LGBT.
I think this is the worst yet: lumping all “deviants” together and defining them through a clumsy acronym.
I find this unacceptable even “though I am heterosexual”.
What on earth are you saying? There’s nothing wrong with the acronym LGBT.
and LGBT is outdated nowadays. It’s LGBTQ if I’m not mistaken. Qas naqra ricerka m’ghamlet lol.
Technically, he has a bit of a point. Lumping transsexual people with LGB does them no good, as their issues are related to gender identity, not sexual orientation. As a matter of fact, European equality bodies (the local one being NCPE) have been making this distinction for quite some time, despite it, unfortunately, not having made it to the mainstream yet.
What wrong with good old homosexual?
If we really want an ‘inclusive’ acronym it should be LGBTAMT to include asexual, metrosexual, trisexual . . . and I bet I could think of other types of something-sexual if I tried.
Q? What’s Q? Isn’t that something to do with James Bond?
I think Q is for quagmire, which is what you have gotten yourself into. Just joking.
Somebody should tell Mrs Mizzi that LGBT is now LGBTA. “Though heterosexual”, she can’t risk causing offence to asexuals.
It might give her a competitive edge over Cyrus, who is going for LGBT+H for Hunters.
There’s also multisexual and polyamorous.
So it should be LGBTAMP.
In order to be even more inclusive, we should include the blow-up doll fetishists (BUDF).
So: LGBTAMPBUDF, as well as the Sexually disAbled.
Hence: LGBTAMPBUDFSA.
As in: “Although Baxxter is metrosexual, he believes he can further the cause of all LGBTAMPBUDFSAs by campaigning for a standardisation of acronyms in the European Parliament. Make your life simpler – Vote Baxxter.”
Why can’t they say something spontaneous without the need to make it so obvious they are reading?
Her pronunciation is much like Mrs Muscat’s.
The emphasis on the wrong syllable is a hazard that every non-native English speaker trips over all the time.
Because they don’t believe a word of it.
I am metrosexual, and I endorse Mrs Mizzi.
Give her a tea bag.
Why in English?
Because she talks in tongues, and must be counting on the fact that some lesbians like that.
Oh dear teleprompter got spell check right but chose the wrong word.
Did she say none of its members should suffer emargination: having a shallow notch at the tip, as in some petals and leaves?
Could the Freudian slip perhaps be a subtle innuendo to the female genitalia, thus canvassing the lesbian vote?
With such high minded, progressive and liberal values, her next obvious move should obviously be to campaign for the plight of asylum seekers.
Can I trust someone who tries to fake his/her appearance to be honest with me as a voter?
If that woman in the electoral flyer is Marlene Mizzi then I am Cate Blanchett.
Nevertheless, it’s good to see that she’s no longer looking as anorexic, and anaemic as she did in the flyer. The therapy must have worked.
It’s true that she looks 25, but she must be close to 30 now.
Perhaps she is preoccupied about the pitiful 4.5% she got in the recent Malta Independent poll.
By the way I am a minority too. I belong to the small group of people in Malta who believe in meritocracy. Who is there for me?
See if you can solve this, Ciccio. It was a question in my NSA selection test, which I failed.
If 26 is to 60 as LGBT is to hunter, what is progressive?
A Malta Labour Party that actually is fit for purpose.
A Gay Hunter
Blimey. You’re right.

The LGBT group has become a business, just like the Catholic Church had become in the past. Now the former holds more sway than the latter. The LGBT groups and NGOs are dependent on highlighting or creating discrimination where there is none. Their very survival and the inflated wages of those various NGOs, commissions etc depend on it.
I completely disagree with this statement. Yes, there are those who make a fuss out of anything, but most activists spot and work upon discrimination in LGBTQs’ everyday lives.
We all know that but we are suppose to pretend that we don’t know that.
Having a special label bestowed on you as a member of a pampered group gives you special powers that are denied to mere mortals.
You are oversimplifying it a bit, as studies show that there is discrimination. I will concede that, at least in Malta, certain LGBT NGOs though have become business-like in that they want to be the only major representative body and exert their power for its own sake. At least that’s the impression I got from my dealings with them.
Look, the fact is that once you start to differentiate between people based on a perceived belonging to one group or another you actually highlight difference rather than encourage unity.
In places like the UK you have to tick a box to tell them what group you perceive yourself as belonging to. I for one am always stuck at this point. I am not white, black, or Asian. What am I then? Really, how does it change my potential future workplace whether I am heterosexual, homosexual, white or black? The only distinguishing factor I can understand as relevant is ‘disabled’ as things may have to be organised from a logistics point of view to accommodate my participation in the workforce.
As a case in point of certain NGOs purposely stoking the fire, take the recent abuse of an Australian man of Maltese descent on a bus in QLD, Australia. Before there was time to verify the facts every NGO under the sun was claiming that the ‘Indigenous man (Aboriginal Australian)’ had been violently racially abused. They capitalised as soon as possible as that is their bread and butter. The fact is that by jumping at the opportunity and publicising the attack of an indigenous man — even though he was not indigenous — means they brought renewed relevance to their cause. Of course, by the time it was later revealed that the man was not indigenous the public was no longer interested. Therefore, in the eyes of the public, contrary to the facts, the man who was attacked on the bus was indigenous and it was an indictment of the rampant racism towards indigenous Australians in Australia – which as it happens I do not deny exists.
However, this raises another point. Why would an attack on an indigenous man be any more disgusting than an attack on a non-indigenous man – let’s say of Macedonian or Peruvian descent?
I have been the recipient of sexist and racist abuse not to mention the victim of religious intolerance but I have never made a meal of it. That would only empower my aggressors who will most likely change their minds on their opinion towards me in the future anyway.
If Marlene Mizzi is progressive and liberal, why isn’t she advocating gay marriage rather than civil union?
And why does she have to distinguish herself as a “heterosexual”?
Very often, social inequality is created by those who pontificate about equality.
Someone should inform her that the English word for “emarginati” is “marginalized”, and not “emarginated.”
She’s not a lesbian but she’s trying to make it as a fag-hag. Else why would she bother?
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/fag+hag
The body language says a lot. It says that she seemed uninterested in what she was reading.
When one reads with no interest in the subject matter, this means that she can not be interested in LGBT let alone in LGBT rights, in equality and LGBT’s place in society.
As if!
Also, she did not write that speech herself and neither did she proof read it.
She read it for the first time, when the person employed to write sppeches for her, handed in the work.
When you write your own work, or at least proof-read what other people are paid to write for you, you talk with passion about the subject you wish to be elected in.
Does Mrs Mizzi seriously think that LGBT are the minority nowadays? I bet she’s living in an Arab country where homosexuality is a taboo.
Personally I, a heterosexual and a proud one, feel that I am discriminated against and in the minority simply because I am straight. If you are not gay you are not important.
How thoughtful of her, NOW she wants Malta to be in conformity with other member states. Apparently she forgot how much her party led by the Dr. Made In Brussels dunce opposed Malta’s membership with the EU.
Now, even heterosexual couples have had the door closed on them in regard to adopting children form certain countries, because Malta is planning on making it possible for gay couples to adopt.
Has Mrs Mizzi got her bus pass yet?
Preaching is one thing, but practising what you preach is another. We heard Mrs Mizzi’s leader and his cohorts and a lot of people believed them, but now see what we’ve got – a lot of greedy bastards doing exactly the contrary of what they preached.
She defeated the whole scope of her speech by declaring that “she is heterosexual”. How absurd.
“emargination”?
I am meritosexual and my promiscuity never got me as far as Brussels nor in the folds of the Super One herd that got sterling jobs.
I can always keep trying till who knows, Marlene Mizzi might make it to Brussels and stand in for me. Do it, Marlene.
” Gay rights”, ” Animal Rights”, what is she aiming at? St Marlene of Brussels?
