It’s one year as prime minister, not Labour leader

I see that the Labour Party, after 45 years of making the same mistake, is still unable to distinguish between party and government.
The party’s news site, Maltastar, tells us that the prime minister will mark his first year in government with a meeting in Valletta where he will address supporters (of the Labour Party).
There is no call for party-political mass meetings to mark a first year of government. The party and the government are separate and distinct, or should be.
The rest of us don’t want to see the prime minister, in his government role, addressing a mass meeting of Laburisti to celebrate the first year of what they think of as their government. It’s all wrong.

He wants to garner votes for the forthcoming MEP elections. Want to bet the PL MEP candidates will be on stage.
So this is the ‘political activity’ that led to a Police sergeant phoning up the organiser of a peace walk to inform her that it cannot take place.
How very democratic.

AND he’s setting up a tent – at the taxpayer’s expense – for the grand occasion. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152705197069741&set=pcb.10152705197299741&type=1
What’s he celebrating? The 11th anniversary of trying to stop Malta from joining the EU?
There already is a tent erected at the Main Guard and I bet it is taxpayer-funded.
L injorant, injorant jibqa…..Prim u mhux
And to prove your point even further, dear Daphne, parking slots were left empty in Republic Street opposite the Chamber of Commerce, the way they do when there is parliament in session, or a state event. This was a Labour Party event and NO ONE has the right to keep parking slots empty.
I was just happy the weather turned out the way it did.
The TVM news has also become indistinguishable from ONE news.
