And then compare it to Kurt Farrugia’s (chief of government communications) spinning, lying tweet-cum-pic which I have uploaded here. Yes, Kurt, r-i-g-h-t.

As several people have already noticed and commented, that photograph wasn’t taken today. We don’t know what Jo was wearing, because he didn’t have the guts to show his face. But the shirt that Godfrey Farrugia is wearing in this photograph is not the same one he is wearing in Times of Malta’s video of him leaving Girgenti.

Idiot, and a hundred times over, idiot.

    Kollox fenomenali ghandu Konrad, gotbles.

I almost feel sorry for Godfrey Farrugia.

  3. Tinnat says:

Can we please invite him and his wife to rise from their parliamentary seat, walk some 15 metres, and join the Opposition?

    • Gahan says:

I can imagine the couple to be part of an independent party on the opposition benches but not in the PN.

Ironically, the worst case scenario for Joseph Muscat is for them to be on the government side, shooting at him from the government benches.

  4. Dott Abjad says:

    1.30 to 1.32 – priceless!

  5. Jozef says:

So Konrad Mizzi says he had a meeting with the PM to discuss the holistic plan outlined yesterday.

    And when was this?

    Farrugia’s beside himself with rage.

  6. Paddling Duck says:

Someone’s slightly pissed off! Anyway, why didn’t he park his car inside? This doesn’t make much sense.

    • Tabatha White says:

Godfrey Farrugia, like Marlene Farrugia, has befriended the press.

His walk was successful in that the only memorable moment is that he has indicated that he has more to tell.

      At the right moment?

  7. curious says:

With the Health and Energy portfolio, Konrad Mizzi will not have any energy left to travel to meet his wife in Shangai.

  8. Benny Hill says:

Godfrey Farrugia is a good man, and as you had once said, a good man surrounded by wolves is bound to be shred to bits.

    • Spock says:

Godfrey Farrugia absolutely never fitted in with this pack of hyenas ; the tragedy of the whole thing is that he never realized this – till now

  9. Manuel says:

The worst part in this charade: the PM did NOT call a press conference, but instead TWEETED a message. Unbecoming of anyone calling himself a PM.

To quote his hero David Cameron, too many tweets make a twat.

    • curious says:

I am calling him The Prisoner of Girgenti. He cancelled his visit to the university (so no press opportunity there).

He chose to meet his new Cabinet at Girgenti and not at Castille. A bully and a coward.

      • Wot the Hack says:

Apparently it is easier to avoid the media at Girgenti.

First keep the media locked out outside the gates, and then just drive past them in the Alfa, avoiding any temptation to stop the driver, wind down the window, unfasten the seatbelt, and engaging in some despicable behaviour like that with the NET reporters at the Malta International Airport.

At the Auberge de Castille, he would have to face the media on the staircase before he can sneak into the Alfa.

      • M. Cassar says:

A bully is always a coward when he is with his back to the wall. Remember you cannot fool all of the people all of the time unless you are the president of the (Democratic) People’s Republic of (North) Korea and can fully control the press, internet access and everyone’s life.

Now let’s call Henley & something for some more advice…

      • Manuel says:

Reminds you so much of Sant’s old saying “No comment”. Muscat is scared of facing the truth and the public.

      • Ta'sapienza says:

Appropriate place, the inquisitor’s palace. Jo Torquemada.

    • M. Cassar says:

Ah, but while tweeting he does not have to worry about the body language which usually gives him away.

  10. Gladio says:

Will the Chinese take over our health system as they did with our electricity generation system?

  11. ciccio says:

That selfie with Godfrey Farrugia is “fenomenali.”

Well, what can you do when you don’t have Elle Thorning-Schmidt in your cabinet?

  12. Observant says:

Unless Godfrey Farrugia had a change of clothes the photo and video were not taken on the same day….the shirts are different.

  13. gorg says:

Kurt is giving us the impression that Joseph and Godfrey left each other with a hug today. That photo must have been shot on another much happier occasion.

Godfrey’s shirt is not the same one.

  14. Bubu says:

I genuinely feel sorry for Godfrey Farrugia.

He was too much of an idealist to ever have a chance of survival among those sharks.

I sincerely hope for his own sake that he finds happiness doing what he obviously had a love for since the very beginning – his medical practice.

    • Joe Fenech says:

Honest people with a vision have no place in Maltese politics, let alone as ministers in a PL government.

  15. Joe Micallef says:

    Imma Konrad ministru Bomba!

  16. hmm says:

Farrugia looks MEGA pissed off. My bet is China is coming in on this one too.

  17. Claude Sciberras says:

    A) Why the hell was he parked so far off?

    B) It’s painful watching this.

    C) Jekk ghandna tim daqshekk fenomenali, why was there so much criticism before and after the election?

  18. kram says:

Forsi biddel il-qmis malajr qabel ma hareg minn hemm…

  19. Anthony says:

    Godfrey Farrugia made one mistake.

That was when he got involved with this rotten government in the first place.

He was crafty enough to pre-empt Jo in that he made it impossible for him to sack him since he had already resigned.

    Tajba Godfrey.

  20. Barabbas Borg says:

    Haha.. he’s done.

  21. Kenneth says:

Godfrey Farrugia didn’t just change his shirt on the way out of Girgenti. He quickly had his hair cut, too.

  22. ACD says:

We know that that picture is not recent, because the Prime Minister has even less hair these days.

  23. AE says:

There’s that word ‘roadmap’ again. Seems it keeps changing at every turn. Insane that the all-important Health Ministry has been lumped in with the other crucial ministry of Energy. Muscat is banking on Mizzi big-time. Mizzi who has had no real experience to speak of before his venture into politics.

  24. Slimiz says:

Joseph Muscat looks like Miss Piggy in that photograph. He could also do with a bra.

  25. Joe Zammit says:

I guess Mr. Konrad Mizzi will be more than happy to work with Mr. John Dalli

  26. #RantOver says:

How none of the other media carried out this piece of news is just beyond me.

So basically the chief of communications of the government just made fools out of them, yet these so called journalists, some of them present on site, haven’t got the guts to point this out.

This is quite symptomatic of the new breed of so-called-journalists (nothing more than reporters) who shun complete responsibility of what they actually should be doing – investigating and scrutinizing.

I honestly believe that for most of them this was no genuine mistake, yet, an attempt to please this government in hope of some reward – perhaps a position on a board, a laptop, etc.

  27. TROY says:

Yes Konrad, that’s exactly what we need – another road map.

  28. J Spiteri says:

looks like the pic was taken on the day I guess:
