  1. Joe Borg says:

If my child were in that choir I would sue the Prime Minister. This is not a government/national celebration. They should consider mass litigation. Unless, of course their parents are ‘ALL IN’

  2. MARIA DEBONO says:

whoever taught theNational Anthem to these children must first learn the words. The words are ”Id -dehen” and not ”lid-dehen” lil min jahkima and also ” Rodd il-hniena lis-sid, SAHHA lil-haddiem” and not ”is -sahha”,

  3. Manuel says:

What a country. Being liberal and progressive for Labour means going back in time.

I am not surprised that children are being used for propaganda purposes. The PM and the Lady of Castille have been parading their twins for the last 5 years, using them in any occasion as a propaganda medium to attract sympathy and support from people.

Like you say, Daphne, when the PL are in government, people are afraid and are very cautious in what they say or do. So everybody says, “Yes, Prime Minister” and “Yes, minister”.

    Really, what a country.

  4. Informer says:

Dear Daphne, do you have an e-mail address where I can write to you with some information please? I would like to relay some information to you in confidence, if you could kindly permit me that and also anonymity please. I am a person who admires you very much for the way you bring up things publicly and so very straightforwardly although sometimes I do think you go a bit out of your way to be honest. But that’s your style and in a democratic country in principle (although in reality it isn’t for sure) I’ve learned to appreciate every person’s style. Please let me know on which e-mail address can I write to you. Thank you for being who you are.

  5. ciccio says:

Are those Maltese children the ones who will receive Marie Louise Coleiro Preca’s poverty allowance until they are 23 years old?

Well, let’s hope the prime minister did not make them miss school in order to have them sing in his honour. They could loose their benefit if they did so.

Dalwaqt ikollna naghtu l-Beneficcju tal-Faqar lil-gvern Laburista, biex johrog mil-faqar ta’ mentalita li ghandu.

  6. madgoal says:

Izjed l-Orchestra Nazzjonali qatta pulcinelli, mercinarji..tghid mhux ha nkun jien u noqghod indoqqlu il-vjolin.

    • Joe Fenech says:

Madgoal, that is an unfair comment. The orchestral members are employees and Sigmund Mifsud (by international standards, a semi-professional trumpet player) is their chairman.

      • madgoal says:

Being an employee or not, I don’t think it’s their job to participate in government propaganda videos.

  7. Silvio Loporto says:

Never heard our national anthem so beautifully performed.

[Daphne – Kien il-vera wertit li vvutajt Labour, mela, Sur Loporto.]

    • Joe Fenech says:

Silvio, that’s because you are a philistine.

    • Silvio Loporto says:

I honestly don’t see why politics should have anything to do with this matter.

Does admiring the Bolshoi ballet make one a pro Russia?

[Daphne – A performance of the Bolshoi ballet, Mr Loporto, does not have a political aim or a political message. The comparison you should make is to a performance of the Bolshoi for the glorification of Vladimir Putin. The point at issue, then, would not be the technical brilliance of their performance, or otherwise.]

  8. La Redoute says:

Exactly how much did this bit of propaganda cost?

  9. P Bonnici says:

I am not a fan of Dr Muscat but you cannot compare the two video clips, Dr Muscat is not shown in the video unlike the North Korean one.

  10. Angus Black says:

    Gieh Malta, to them too.
