Yana Mintoff: celebrating the successful auction of her father’s goods and chattels with a stay at the Hotel Ta’ Cenc

With the exhausting but lucrative experience of putting up for auction her dead father’s goods, chattels, personal souvenirs, belt buckles and ephemera now behind her, Yana Mintoff is taking a much-needed rest at the Hotel Ta’ Cenc.

This afternoon she was at the indoor pool/spa, rather fetchingly attired in a bikini, her stomach wrinkles on glorious display.

Her father would not have approved – not because five-star rest-cures are inappropriate for socialist heroes of the working-class, but because paying somebody to stay in their place when you have a place of your own is a waste of money. On the other hand, if you don’t have to pay, then it would be a waste not to grab at what you can take.

Who said that she paid for this ‘stay’?

  2. C Falzon says:

Not exactly her father’s goods. Quite a lot of the goods were ours, as she unashamedly let us know a few weeks ago.

    • Rumplestiltskin says:

A very large number of items in the auction were obviously gifts from heads of state or government, given to Mintoff in virtue of his being prime minister at the time.

Being who he was, it was most unlikely that he would buy several Saudi Arabian ceremonial daggers, among other things. I would consider gifts given to a head of state or prime minister by his/her counterparts in other countries to be gifts to the country he/she represents rather than personal gifts to be flogged to the highest bidder for personal profit.

Don’t you just love these socialists – they spend their time in five star hotels and then go on to give us lectures on poverty. They want to spread our wealth around whilst they store up their own.

If I had booked at the Hotel Ta Cenc this weekend I would have asked for my money back citing the trade descriptions act.

The Malta Taghna Lkoll/Labour Party crowd are regularly at Ta’ Cenc nowadays, probably staying for free.

“socialist heroes of the working-class” that is the socialism a la Maltaise (replace ‘working-class’ with ‘ignorant’ and ‘people without any ambition to progress in life through non-corrupt means’).

Real socialism should be a system that guarantees a reasonably fair distribution of wealth – not something the Maltese Labour Party champions! L-aqwa l-BMW, id-designer clothes, il-villel… Buffoons!!!

A true socialist and mythical figure, Tony Benn, died yesterday. Not one single member of the PL had the decency to mention him or dedicate him a eulogy simply because a true socialist would embarrass this bunch of Chinese styled hyper-capitalists!

Yana Mintoff must have got herself a freebie.

    • Mint Toffee says:

No, I believe she did pay on checking out. Whether or not she asked for a discount, however, I wouldn’t know.

  9. Manuel says:

Spending daddy’s money feels so good. They should have donated a huge sum of what they inherited to Malta. It was money their father stole from us.
