Real circulation is a lot higher than that, because many of the 900,000 copies distributed will be read by more than one person. The London Evening Standard is distributed outside all tube stations.
Tube and train stations, therefore read by Londoners, tourists, and thousands of people who commute daily into London.
And most of them read it, and leave it in the train for others to pick up later… so probably it’s read 3 times over..
Relax. There was a tube strike yesterday and today. Most people got back home on a crowded bus. Most copies of the Evening Standard were left uncollected in stacks on the pavement.
Didn’t the Chief of Communications Coconut of the government go on a “BBC training” precisely to deal with this sort of situation?
I think that at this point he should be calling Houston.
Typical Maltese fuzzy logic: you get the highest communications job in the country, ‘then’ you train !
And Saviour lost the plot.

‘….In a separate incident on the same day, a CABS patrol car was blocked in by a hunter near Qala.
The hunter allegedly approached the birdwatchers, violently shouting and swearing and pushing a female CABS member from Scotland.
“The man then threatened to kill the team leader of the CABS patrol but luckily the group managed to escape from the situation. Shortly afterwards, the same hunter stopped the CABS members as they were driving in Nadur and again threatened to kill them, swearing at the team leader to ‘go back to his own country’, not only a violent death threat but also a racial slur,” CABS said.
Both incidents were reported to the Victoria police station whose officers identified and summoned the aggressor.
The hunter admitted to the charges and described himself as being “frustrated” because he did not manage to shoot a Turtle Dove that morning.
After the man had apologised to the CABS team, the birdwatchers abstained from pressing charges against him for the time being….’

Policemen are doing a lot to lose respect by the common folk under Labour.
We are back in Mintoffian years where police are not there to serve the citizens but to serve the government
Wow. Excellent. This is free advertising. Many nature lovers will now rush to our shores to experience Malta’s natural beauty guarded by ‘wardens of the flying species’.
Seems our government is able to generate a PR disaster every time an opportunity arises. Either everyone involved is dumb or else we have a small group of leaders who are even more dumb.
Chris Packham had linked to birdlife’s Indiegogo campaign: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/stop-spring-hunting-on-malta
If it helps curb hunting, it’s a cause worth donating to.
Loaded bases everywhere!
I never really figured out why the Labour Party made such a big deal in giving its people crucial posts so early in its term. Surely it could of left some half-decent people there to keep things straight.
The prime minister has just announced the “big news”: 2 cents off the price of petrol. R
This reminds me of his idol Dom’s mils reduction on corned beef and tinned sardines. What fools they are.
What was the Bank of Valletta chairman doing at political meeting yesterday? No wonder that bank has been losing millions since his appointment.
Dan kollhu lanzit, Daphne – didn’t you hear the fantastic important good news of this morning? It’s so good that we don’t care what they say about us internationally.
With two cents off the price of petrol, we can ignore all those UK headlines and BBC interviews.
Speak about missing the bigger picture.
While the PM is talking about saving cents per week on fuel for families and businesses, something like the article above could do massive damage to our tourism industry which feeds thousands of Maltese families quite a few euros per week.
ghax issa ahna di bast
Kollu tort tal- PN dan. Ftiehmu ma’ Packham, il- BBC u dawn il-gazetti biex ihammgu isem Malta mal-barranin.
Or rather I should have said ‘mal- BARRANI’
Meanwhile, Malta’s ‘David Cameron’ has called a press conference to announce that petrol at the pumps is 2c cheaper.

Now my family really feels stable.
If this is the PM’s concept of “big news,” then it is not surprising that he regards so many serious issues as petty.
The Week, which also has huge traffic numbers, has the story too.
What’s interesting is that when looking at the comments further down the page it is obvious that either the government or the shooting lobby have summoned their elves to post a standard reply.
The idiots Kokka and Brindag have done that here.

Hilarious.
900,000? “Massive”
He delayed his April Fool joke by a month.
That’s what happens when you change from professionals leading the country to amateurs.
I guess Mr. Packham should count himself lucky he didn’t become the subject of an edition of National Geographic’s “Banged up abroad”.
Malta has its own polite versions of banged up abroad.
The long awaited exposure of Malta’s communist methods. I am sure there will be more.
