Cardinal Zen says that the Vatican should speak out on the subject of (lack of) religious liberty in China. Perhaps Joseph Muscat, being so liberal and all for rights and freedoms, might do so himself?

  1. David says:

Now why doesn’t the Vatican speak about religious liberty in China?

    • Probably for fear of retribution on the helpless faithful there – which happens to be very much the same reason Piux XII didn’t condemn Nazism publicly.

      • David says:

I agree, and the same may happen if Joseph Muscat sepaks out on this.

[Daphne – You cannot be serious, David.]

  2. David says:

Probably it is better for and in the interest of Chinese Catholics that the Vatican takes a prudent approach to the Chinese government.
