Marc Sant (Labour councillor, failed Labour candidate and nephew of former PM) goes to war with Franco Debono
My, a real life cock-fight. With these two, who don’t stop and just keep going, there will be blood. Marc Sant, the failed Labour general election candidate who is a Labour councillor and heads the Local Councils Association, wrote something uncalled-for about the outgoing and incoming presidents on his Facebook page.
He called George Abela ‘bniedem opportunist’, expressed relief at his departure and welcomed the appointment of somebody ‘truly altruistic’.
Given that he holds public office as head of the Local Councils Association, the Opposition has called for his resignation.
Franco Debono then uploaded, on his Facebook page, the link to the news story calling for Sant’s resignation.
Marc Sant dashed in at once: “Issa lhaqt gurnalist ukoll?”
A public tirade follows, with the two of them insulting each other.

Oh my. I had always thought there was a good chance of implosion once Jo and co got elected and gave JPO and Franco their posts. I wouldn’t have bet on it happening this fast, though.
Facebook at dawn.
A cock-fight between two tossers
This is not the sort of behaviour you would expect of a party enthusiastic about being new to government.
‘Fra due litiganti il terzo gode’. Chi potrebbe essere costui stavolta?
qualc’altro ca##o.
Does he really mean ‘altruist’ as in ‘someone who is out of her depth’?
Is the self proclaimed oligarchophobe offering a position to a ‘habib’? My, my go figure!
Oozing testosterone
How do I convey a cat fight sound in writing?
The Great Cock of Hal Ghaxaq seemed to back down in the face of Sant’s stronger challenge. What a wuss.
Hekk hu go fik Franco.
Looks more like an argument between two 12-year-olds. If these people are the ones deciding for our country/councils, then I see us heading downhill fast. Hopefully we’ll avoid a 40 metre drop or we’ll break a couple of ribs.
The decline of Form IIC. One’s in government assisted by another, and a third’s picking cock-fights over the role of law commissioner.
They are both so pathetic. In Maltese both of them are well described by the word ‘pcielaq.’
What can one expect from someone who takes photos of his breakfast to show his Facebook friends what a ‘pain au chocolat’ looks like?
The question we should all be asking is why Owen Bonnici has decided to offer Franco Debono another term as Law Commissioner when did jack s*** in the last year.
There is a way out of this. Let them both produce their Form 2 results. Then we can decide who’s the winner. In case of a tie, the bigger cock wins.
The Indjuns are circling the wagon?
Damn! I would have liked to see Marc Sant challenge Franco Debono by insisting he lists his achievements in the past year!.
I bet that Owen Bonnici had Franco Debono bending his ear on the phone when he crashed.
“Għadni m’aċċettajtx!”
Now they know what it’s like to have Debono ‘on their side’.
Perhaps Marc Sant ought to wait before being too sure that Marie Louise Coleiro is better than George Abela.
Being a militant does not really make a unifying figurehead. I believe George Abela succeeded were others did not. The rest is yet to be seen.
Yes, he succeeded in thing for sure: that of creating an institute, complete with state-of-the-art building, for the treatment of eating disorders (of all disorders!), managed and run (with all the attendant training abroad) by his daughter-in-law’s sister, all funded by the Community Chest Fund.
Well I mean, lets face it, George Abela was a parochial dinosaur.
I’ll never forget how he welcomed the Pope to Malta in the immediate wake of the child abuse scandals, and insisted that Malta was predominantly Catholic and had to “fight” the onslaught of secularism.
He waxed lyrical about that idiot in a pointy hat who, it was revealed, had ordered top secrecy among clergy with the threat of excommunication should they break ranks and give evidence about abuse cases. He did, in all fairness, truly represent Malta and the Maltese in all their ignorant, backward, archaic glory.
And he’s also the ignoramus who, in the 21st century, was still very publicly opposed to civil unions. Out with the old, in with the new. Good riddance to him.
