Peter Paul is going to have us all arrested for running round naked in public under our clothes

The Police Commissioner takes a walk with his boss, Silvio Scerri.

Well, with his curious reasoning, expect that any time soon from the Police Commissioner. When The Malta Independent asked him why he is investigating the Bird Life member who reported a man for shooting a protected bird, as well as the man who shot the bird, Peter Paul Zammit replied that Bird Life Malta:

keeps protected birds found to be injured by an illegal poacher with the excuse that they are taking them to a vet.

“It is illegal to be in possession of a protected bird,” he said.

He said that to date, Bird Life Malta has never presented a certificate issued by a veterinarian related to injured protected birds.

In other words, Bird Life Malta personnel are being investigated for rescuing shot birds and keeping them for treatment, instead of just letting them die there in the fields, “because it is illegal to be in possession of a protected bird”.

This is like a line from a novel set behind the Iron Curtain in the 1970s.

The twisted logic of Peter Paul.

  2. anthony says:

The Police Commissioner should ban all journalists from a radius of fifty kilometres from him. Also he should be forbidden by law to use any form of communication with others.

    For the country’s sake.

    Warped mentality.

    This cannot last.

That’s the same logic used when arresting Norman Vella. He had a mobile phone in his possession. He must have therefore been in contact with Daphne.

Why are we accepting all this?

“During a press call this afternoon The Malta Independent asked Dr Joseph Muscat on whether he thinks it is a conflict of interest for MITA to investigate the disappearance of this email, given that MITA is responsible for the government’s communications services. To this, Dr Muscat replied that after this newspaper published the story, MITA asked Dr Farrugia to hand over his tablet, which according to Dr Muscat, the former minister had not done so.

He did not comment on whether this creates a conflict of interest, walking away before a follow-up question could be asked.”

Is this for real? It *has* to be a spoof, right?. Please, tell me it’s someone taking the piss!

Can a vet be in trouble, “because it is illegal to be in possession of a protected bird”?

Is Michelle Muscat a protected bird?

How very wrong you are, Daphne. This is just a microcosm of the new norm in the United States. I can post 500 clips right now of similar, but much more outrageous cases in the US. But you haven’t been paying attention for a long time now, so why bother.

The Iron Curtain, eh. As if you know a thing.

[Daphne – You are a former policeman, Kevin. Learn how to inspect the evidence. Did I say the Iron Curtain? No. I said “a line from a novel set behind the Iron Curtain in the 1970s” and yes, I happen to know a great deal about those. Meanwhile, you would know about the Iron Curtain itself, having lived behind it in the role of fan and admirer.]

  12. Claude says:

With this reasoning, if I witness a stabbing I should leave the victim to bleed to death because if the police stop me on the way to hospital with the victim in the car I could get charged with attempted murder or being in unlawful possession of a dying person.
