Rewriting history: Alfred Sant is not a Eurosceptic, says the prime minister

The Malta Independent reports Joseph Muscat as saying that Labour EP candidate and former prime minister Alfred Sant is not a Eurosceptic.
Talk about desperate attempts at rewriting history.
Well, he would have to say that, wouldn’t he? Sant is tipped to win a seat in the European Parliament on the Malta Labour Party ticket, which means he will have to sit with the Socialist Group when his proper place, given his beliefs is with the Eurosceptics.

I wonder if this time round Sant will count my vote with his if I don’t show up to vote or if I draw a little flag on the ballot sheet … This country gets crazier by the minute.
I wonder what surprises Muscat’s government has in store for us after the MEP elections of 24 May.
They have sought to implement ‘sweet’ measures immediately in the year beforehand, to achieve their “place in history” as the first to achieve a majority in the EP elections while in government.
This is the only thing that matters to Muscat: his name in history for his majority of 36,000, being the youngest prime minister, the majority of 9 seats, and now a majority in the EP elections.
But after 24 May, it is very likely that the bill for those measures will be presented to the Maltese electorate.
A tax on health?
Other taxes and fuel price hikes?
On 25 May, the “Positive Energy” will go the same way as “Taghna Lkoll” did on 10 March 2013, and it will become total negative energy.
The country will be facing rising unemployment and waning trust in the systems. A number of policies that damage the environment will come into force. And the arrogance of the dictatorship will re-emerge.
Ugo Mifsud was Malta’s youngest prime minister (1924 to 1927), elected at the age of 35 years.
What a liar. He lies so much, that he isn’t concious anymore of when he is lying or telling the truth.
In 2 years’ time, Muscat will begin spreading the word that it was he and the Labour Party who fought hard for Malta to be in the EU.
Muscat’s founding political principles are based on Sant’s, namely the politics of deceit.
Alfred Sant now is trying to get every possible vote for himself. When Malta needed his vote, it was a completely different tune.
Coherence, honesty, integrity are words alien to these two Great Deceivers.
I haven’t got the slightest problem with Eurosceptics like Sant, but dictators like Muscat are dangerous and will drive the country to chaos.
Why does he have to sit with the Socialists? Because they are called ‘Labour’?

Because the Chinese party does not sit in Brussels.
The European Parliament seat belongs to Alfred Sant and not to the MLP. I cannot see him agreeing and endorsing any Socialist Group rules and policies. He will be free to switch EP grouping at any time.
Now, who were those two guys who had devoted so much of their time and energy to try and persuade the Maltese electorate to vote against joining the EU? Was it an Alfred something and a Joseph something?
Alfred Sant isn’t a eurosceptic. He’s a europath.
Has anyone thought about the consequences of having Alfred Sant in the European Parliament?
He will be adding the No votes with the abstentions, present but did not vote, and absent, in order to stop legislation. The European Parliament will come to a standstill, and fresh elections will have to be called within 22 months among accusations of “traditur.”
If Alfred Sant is not a Eurosceptic then I am surely Monica Bellucci.. so there.
For Alfred Sant the EU is zero in his books. He did not even bother to vote one way or another in the EU referendum.
The Socialist grouping continues to delegitimise itself by including these Right-Wing National Socialists.
Hold on please Alfred Sant and Joe Muscat. Principles are principles and remain principles. How on earth do you expect the electorate to cast their vote if they still have very vivid memories of your crusade AGAINST anything to do with the European Union.
Ten years are not a century you know. We are still around. You fooled your people once. Well if you fool them again too bad for them. One last comment: show us your voting document once the polling booths close on 24th May.

They managed to rewrite history when Mintoff died and I have no doubt they’ll manage to do it again with Sant.
I think the PM wants to show that Alfred Sant is not a Eurosceptic because this would also reflect on him since he was Dr. Sant’s right hand man against EU accession.
