From the website of China’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs, we learn that the Chinese ambassador paid a courtesy visit to Konrad Mizzi, the Minister of Health and Energy, whose wife has bolted to China taking with her a large salary, many perks and the children.
The meeting took place at the Auberge de Castille and the purpose, according to China, was to “discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation on health and energy related issues”.

Chinese medicine here we come.
There’s already a clinic at Mater Dei Hospital.
I am sure this minister has no family life. How can he be living so far away from his wife and children?
I guess he just have a virtual relationship with his family. Absolutely pathetic. Money is not everything and life is too short, Mr Minister.
The Maltese hospital will be ideal to test and experiment with non-marketable Chinese imitation medicine.
After all it is only a tiny island with 420,000 people (negligible for China) and these Maltese are easily bought and corrupted.
It’s what Chris Fearne hinted at last year.
Scicluna said this administration’s looking at reducing deficit by tackling the ‘expense’ in health.
Malta has been identified a number of times as a back door left ajar for all that’s outside EU standards and certification. Be it GMO’s, false bio certification and other marvellous products from the people’s Republic.
Cargo holds and containers leaving our ports singled out for thorough inspection.
If Muscat can sell EU passports, he’ll sell EU certification.
As Toni Abela said, we ain’t seen nothing yet. I take it he means you won’t be allowed to see anything either.
Toni Abela’s wish has come true. Malta, one mega supermarket.
30% stake in Mater Dei Hospital. You have it from me.
China’s courting the EU-Commissioner designate.

The tobacco industry had Dalli, and now communist China will have Vella. I feel another wave of reports by the international media linking the EU Commissioner from Malta to corruption will soon be coming up.
There are very pertinent rumours going round within the Ministry of Health and Energy that the governnent will be selling Mater Dei Hospital.
No more medicines out of stock. We shall have them in bulk buying from our friends in China.
We will have the medicine version of the MaiLing luncheon meat.
Only those who lived the bulk buying era of Lino Spiteri will remember the inhuman and usually expired luncheon meat that was forced on the consumers during the eighties.
