seven

You couldn’t make it up. It’s not as though there is an army of psychiatrists in Malta, and that they are all on the list of court-appointed experts.

You’d think somebody would have noticed this particular one had been dead for SEVEN years when they appointed him to analyse a man and file a report.

Times of Malta originally reported that the psychiatrist, Joe Pisani, had been dead for two years, but The Malta Independent reports that he has actually been dead for seven.

What are the Moviment’s views when magistrates appoint their spouse/partner as court expert (basically a direct order)?

What are the Law Commissioner’s views?

Are we, who finally pay, entitled to know how much these experts have earned in such commissions, awarded to them by their spouse/partner?

If this had to happen before March 2013, there would have been some cock-a-doodle collector rushing to parliament topresent a motion for the demotion of the Justice Minister. How times change.

I often wonder how the so-called “Court experts” are appointed ?

Were they expecting him to leave it in his will?

Malta: The land where dead psychiatrists are appointed court experts and where diving equipment leads to the evacuation of an airport.

    • observer says:

It was not the diving equipment itself – it was the ‘traces of explosives’ on the equipment.

That goes to show how sophisticated the scanning equipment is. It can detect ‘traces of explosives’ by viewing the equipment electronically – and, presumably, smelling the substance.

  12. Most comments refer on the absurdity of the situation, but what the public is entitled to know, through an independent investigation, is why the court was not aware that the person chosen as its expert had been dead for so long, how long was it before it learned this fact, and how can all this be justified?

Will any disciplinary action be taken against anyone? If not, why bother to change such inefficiency?
