Here’s a small gift to mark the 10th anniversary of Malta’s accession to the European Union, from somebody who never wanted that to happen in the first place

So grateful sire. Hail, hail.
Doesn’t this merit a special minting of the 2 cents coin for the memorable occasion? It should become a collector’s item.
And on the reverse side of the coin, it should bear the following etching:
2014. Malta: Energija Pozittiva. Trahhis ta’ zewg centezmi fil-prezz tal-petlor.
Thank you, Jo.
Now we afford to buy an extra dozen pastizzi and a soft drink by the end of the year. Isn’t that awesome?
Had I ever had the greatest respect for the readers of this excellent blog, I would have suggested (in Maltese) what Joseph Muscat could have done with two cents.
Now I can afford a Ferrari running on LPG.
Those on LNG run even faster – but may be somewhat explosive at the first touch of the ignition switch.
Now we can afford steak for dinner once a week.
And the two-cents price reduction on petrol takes effect in July, not now.
