Many of us were mistaken – this reinstated police officer is actually a WPC
I have received a couple of telephone calls and an email explaining that this newly reinstated police officer, one of 22 brought back into the Police Force by the Police Commissioner and the Police Minister last week, is not a PC but a WPC.
So my apologies for the error.
She has been away from Malta for many years and returned recently. She has been reinstated into the police force on a part-time basis as WPC3059, detailed to the police station at Valletta Waterfront. She is in uniform (obviously) but visitors to the station have remarked on the fact that she wears her hair as it is in this photograph and does not follow the rule of scraping it back into a bun beneath her cap.
Given that she is already on detail, it is to be assumed that – as with the other reinstated police officers – there has been no training to make up for the long years of absence from the police corps.

Confirmed: this morning I saw this police officer on my way to office at 09.00am near Valletta Waterfront police station with her hair as it is in this photograph.
I would say the publicity for WPC Goldilocks has been successful, on the whole.
She is probably, by now, the best known member of the force.

Dazed and Confused.
Daphne, I do not blame you at all for thinking her a man. It was a very understandable mistake to make.
That hair screams “Neighbours”. As an amateur sleuth, I perceive she’s been to Australia.
Perhaps the Police Minister and the Police Commissioner would care to tell us why it was so important for the Maltese Police corps to reinstate someone who has been away from the force and Malta for years.
The Police Minister is a big Led Zeppelin fan that is why.
Surely “lead Zeppelin”?
