  1. Calculator says:

That last line really says it all: “Zhang praised the Labor Party for its key role in the development of Sino-Maltese ties, saying the Communist Party of China (CPC) has maintained close ties with the Labor Party during the past four decades, no matter whether the latter was in power or not.”

So Labour has and will always be anti-democratic, no matter how many times they revise their image.

  2. Makjavel says:

And Joseph Muscat will reciprocate by giving China drilling rights in Malta’s continental shelf.

  3. it-Tezi ta' Mario says:

I saw that coming but people who should know better thought they actually did.

  4. Dott Abjad says:

If you turn the Malta Labour Party inside out, you should be able to find the label marked “Made in China”.

  5. anthony says:

    What’s the problem?

Let Joey associate himself with China.

    To his detriment.

And that of the vast majority of the electorate, of course.

But that is exactly what they, in their stupidity, deserve.

  6. Carmelo Micallef says:

The PRC is knowingly dealing with a prostitute, in the form of Malta, at the market rate – it is an unemotional commercial transaction. The PRC has many similar dispassionate ‘relationships’ around the world which may be discarded or built upon at their discretion, and their discretion alone.

  7. bun-seeker says:

Who cares as long as the Chinese pay the extra millions caused by the dishing out of iced buns

  8. Silvio says:

I expect that this is just going to be a replay of the citizenship scheme.

We will soon be seeing P.N. high-ups trying to make a fast buck by representing Chinese investors.

[Daphne – I rather think one or two of them are doing that already.]
