L-ghexieren ta’ miljuni li qed jintefqu fuq il-buses huma taghna lkoll: but Joe Mizzi and the government say it’s “not prudent” to tell us how much they’ve lost

The estimated amount of tax money that is being used to subsidise the public buses has been estimated at 2.2 million euros a month, which is 26.4 million euros a year.
But when Times of Malta asked Transport Minister Joe Mizzi’s office how much the actual spend is, the reply came back that it “isn’t prudent” to say.
“It’s not prudent” – when they can’t say “not in the interest of national security” because the matter doesn’t warrant it, they say “not prudent”.
I think the only prudent thing to do when they come knocking for a vote is to say that it isn’t prudent to give it to them, and it probably isn’t in the interest of national security either.

Well he will have to factor it in the budget document for 2015, so we just need to look for it as a budget line item.
Gvern trasparenti u onest!
Would Joe Mizzi tell us whether he intends to take a ‘mystery shopper’ trip on some buses to check whether all is fine and acceptable?
