Talk about digging yourself in deeper: now the OLAF report is “a fraud”

fraud

John Dalli’s new line of argument and self-conviction now that the EU Commission president has wiped the floor with him in the Court of Justice in Luxembourg:

“Barroso based his decision on a fraud. The OLAF report is a fraud.”

The word he’s looking for is ‘fraudulent’, but his vocabulary doesn’t stretch that far and neither does his limited intelligence, which is not intelligence at all but the low cunning of an acquisitive fixer.

He’s making his situation a whole lot worse and ensuring that this story is not going away any time soon.

I suppose he’s secure in the knowledge that Muscat is not going to drop him like a hot potato, no more than he dropped World Bank blacklisted Shiv Nair.

  1. La Redoute says:

Isn’t the OLAF report beside the point? The reason Dalli had to resign was because of he held illicit meetings with the tobacco lobby brokered by Silvio Zammit. He doesn’t deny those meetings were held – one, famously, in his swimming trunks – so what’s he on about now?

    • Alexander Ball says:

He’s shitting himself that he’ll end up in the dock on a fraud charge. Anyone reading the OLAF report, compiled with evidence obtained by the Malta Police, would not be surprised if he did time.

      • La Redoute says:

He’d have to be prosecuted first, and he hasn’t been.

      • H.P. Baxxter says:

I would be surprised. Because you see, there is no such thing as EU criminal law. In order for John Dalli to do time he’d have to be tried in some national jurisdiction. In his case, it would probably be Malta. And we all know that Maltese judges uphold justice, right?

      • David says:

Mr Dalli is not facing criminal proceedings. However Mr Zammit is. If Mr Zammit is not found guilty, then neither can Mr Dalli be found guilty.

  2. Artemis says:

The only fraud is John Dalli himself.

  3. bob-a-job says:

How right the expression ‘Money Talks’ is.

    Dalli hasn’t friggin’ stopped talking.

Why didn’t the coward call OLAF and Barroso fraud when he was in Luxemburg?

He could have said it to Barroso’s face, he had all the chance to do just that but no he just sat meekly and did not even issue a statement.

Barroso issued a hard statement that should have provoked Dalli to some response. It was Barroso who indirectly called him a fraudster.

But Dalli is chicken, he only says things like that when he’s in Malta, hiding behind his master’s skirts, figuratively, and protected by who should know better and perhaps the Police as well.

  4. Toni bajada says:

Malta has consistently exploited every weakness in the EU. We could not proof our incompatibility with Europe more than we have already.

We exploited the single market to get Europe addicted on gambling,

We turned EU funding into a massive engine for corruption and fraud.

We have cheated Europeans countries of taxes and turned Malta into a massive Money laundering hub.

We have introduce discriminate taxation of Maltese and refused to treat them as European equals.

We have sold EUR passports – access to other countries, just not ours.

We have turned into a Chinese puppet.

We have turn Europe into EU skeptics. We have exploited the fact that there is no EU criminal law.

Now we getting ready to legalize drugs …

Where will it stop ? With the destruction of the EU dream by a bunch of Arab speaking, Geddafi dealing pseudo Europeans or with the expulsion of Malta from the EU?

  5. Philip GS. says:

John Dalli has warned Barroso and Kessler that they will be both arrested if they come to Malta.

I still cant understand why they don’t just get on a plane and fly to Malta and wait at the airport to be arrested. I wonder what influence John Dalli has with the new ACTING police commissioner.
