Will our prime minister please stop making statements for international consumption that make him sound like a small-town mayor?

Can you imagine the head of government of any other EU member state speaking to the press about how thrilled he or she is because Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are going to make a film there?
A mayor might do that: “We’re so excited that Brad and Angelina have chosen our town to make their film.”
But a prime minister? A president? Francois Hollande, David Cameron, Angela Merkel, Matteo Renzi? FORGET IT.

Burmarrad-style politics
Malta-style politics. Zghar izda kbar. Pajjiz ckejken li rnexxielu jattira l-investiment barrani.
And Burmarrad is just a tiny hamlet – without even a town-mayor. He could not even, therefore, be a ‘small-town mayor’.
As someone said in this site “you can’t take the Burmarrad out of the man”

But Dr Muscat is the leader of a population of about 600,000, a mayor in a European city may have a population of over 3 million. I see no reason why our PM should not speak about such a big event in our country and rightly so.

You do realise that other films have been shot in Malta, right?
A big event is the inauguration of a transport system (tram, train…), a university centenary…not a commercial film.
How right you are. It’s a case of ‘qatt ma ra xejn’.
Joseph Muscat will be more thrilled if they find him a role in the film. At least an appearance as in the case of Alfred Hitchcock.

You see, as I told my mate, some foreigners are welcomed.
In his case PM stands for petty-minded.
The cringe factor increases with every article I see reporting Joseph Muscat. Next we can expect him and Michelle to want to be bast frands with Brangelina and invite their children to play with theirs in their castle.
But seriously this is the type of behaviour that will ensure that they do not come back again in a long time.

That’s what you get when you elect a small time w..ker to run our country.
Muscat just loves reducing politics to the Brangelina level. Michelle must be buzzing for the cocktail parties.
