At the moment Manuel Mallia is sitting at a table in a house in San Pawl tat-Targa at a private party. He arrived late and no one spoke to him all evening except the host.
When I am invited to a private party I am always invariably told who the other guests will be. No friend is going to ask me to dinner only for me to be surprised by Manuel Mallia sitting next to me for a couple of hours.
I have politely refused such invitations when I knew I wouldn’t feel comfortable in the presence of particular people.
