“The government never used the word ‘abducted'” – are they liars or just forgetful?

Published: August 4, 2014 at 8:24pm

And in Malta Today, yesterday:

“We chose our words carefully to protect Galea’s life, especially when we didn’t have the full picture of the situation,” spokesperson Kurt Farrugia said two days later. “We were still evaluating the situation, and the word ‘abduction’ was used by the media. We always made it clear that the government never had direct contact with whoever took him.”

By all means, liars. No doubt about that.

  3. Felix says:

Am I prejudiced or what? He does not sound convincing in any word he said. In his interview by The Malta Independent, Martin Galea did a classic statement: “L-ebda gran Alla ma pprova jikkuntattjani”.

  4. WhoamI? says:

Joseph Muscat didn’t use the word “abducted”. I didn’t hear him saying that. He used “htif”, “mahtuf” and other conjunctions of the same verb but never abduction or conjunctions of that totally different verb.

Fittixt fid-dizzjunarju l-kelma htif xinhi bl-Ingliz? Taf li fost l-ohrajn hemm “abduction”? When in doubt leave out. Dik li dejjem tghallimt jien meta nigi biex nitkellem jew nikteb fuq xi haga.

Semma l-kelma htif kemm-il darba. Altru li mhux il-media semmewha l-kelma abduction. Giddibin tal-prima kwalita. Ma nistax nifhem kif jorqdu dawn in-nies.

      • WhoamI? says:

Oh sorry – didn’t realise htif and abduction actually referred to thesame action. Should have checked.

This is a typical Labour supporter, he lacks judgment and consideration for others.

Did not bother to inform his brother about the oil company he would be working with, did not bother to phone home, did not bother to go to Libya through the proper channels, and while he was a Transport Malta employee he went to seek another job in Libya.

Sebastian de Morra, the government no, but Marisa yes.

That is exactly why Martin declared to a stunned Maltese nation that he owed his life to her.

    Never mind. Mhux xorta.

I really hope that Kurt Farrugia and his master will never ever state that the sun rises from the east because that will be day when, since the dawn of civilisation, I will look west. Lying is the staple diet of this government.

    Hatfet, htif, mahtuf mhumiex abdottat.

    • Cikku says:

Din il-kelma abdottat minn fejn ġibtha? Il-kelma bl-ingliż hija abduction, u bil-Malti fid-dizzjunarju ta’ Aqulina ssibha Ħtif. M’hemmx kelma oħra! Dak li jaħtaf lill-persuna jgħidulu abducator.

Daphne in the course of the past eighteen months I have to learn what the difference is between a fib and a lie. It is the Malta Labour Movement and its leader, that is the difference and no dictionary is ever going to be rewritten to define that.
