    Mental health?

    Jesus!

  3. Be-witched says:

Jesus had Judas, Ceasar had Brutus, Gonzi had several, Archbishop Cremona also had three prominent ones at the least.

All the Great ones were brought down by the ones around them who were supposed to be helping and backing them up. But when it comes to the Church and religion it somehow hurts more.

[Daphne – Has it perhaps occurred to you that he just doesn’t want to do the job, and that maybe he never wanted to in the first place?]

  4. David says:

The Vatican has accepted its own resignation according to The Times of Malta. ISIS will take its place.

Can I apply for the Editor’s job at Malta Today?

I have a Form IIc certificate and I got 100% in Religion, so I know a thing or two about the Vatican.

    Kill me now.

  7. Kapxinn says:

It’s all true, and apparently the Pope and cardinals will resign en masse for starters, going down the line until the Swiss guards switch off the lights.

  8. White coat says:

Maybe in tomorrow’s Malta Today the news will read: Vatican resigns as recommended by Malta’s Archbishop.

  9. anthony says:

It is highly unlikely that the Vatican will accede to this request.

It is more likely that Cremona will resign and that the Vatican will accept his resignation.

It has all been planned for years anyway.

“Stress and other psychological risks should be provided with the same importance as other risks on the basis of the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA) act, Social Dialogue Minister Helena Dalli said.”

    • Gahan says:

The Minister does not seem to be briefed about the NEED of people to work under stress.

People need stress in their lives; it’s UNCONTROLLED stress which they should learn how to manage or avoid.

This is what we were taught at work by the Richmond Foundation under the ESF program.

Clearly, they think subs and proofreaders are dispensable.

  12. Bumblebee says:

As hats have started to be thrown into the ring for a possible successor to Mgr. Paul Cremona, how about considering Gozo’s Monsignor Joe Vella Gauci, at present Malta’s non-resident Ambassador to Unesco……..

    and now….

    ‘The Vatican accepts Scicluna’s resignation”.

    Damn, that Archbishop’s got balls.

  18. Barabbas Borg says:

Let’s hope we won’t get Ratzinger II (Scicluna or the Gozo bishop).

[Daphne – Exactly why would the nature and identity of the archbishop make a difference to any of our lives. They don’t make government policy, you know.]

  19. Barabbas Borg says:

It does for me I’m afraid, why did you seem to want this one to retire?

[Daphne – Because he was miserable in the role and like the rest of us he is only going to live once, so why should he suffer for nothing. I suspect he never even really wanted to be a priest and that his chronic depression is the result of this dawning realisation that he spent his entire life doing something he didn’t actually want to do in the first place, because he felt it was his duty to carry on. It happens to lots of people, not just priests and bishops.]
