Or maybe the intention was to convince the heir to the British throne that he’s the only straight in the village.

The government tried to convince us that past presidents and prime ministers could not be accommodated because Buckinghsm Palace limited numbers.
Blaming others who cannot or will not answer back is typical of this gang as is the preferred choice of a third rate convicted criminal for the VVIP area.
I can’t remember ever seeing Muscat looking at his wife with such admiration
I have long thought he was a closet gay. If that is the case, as the only son of a doting older mother, and an activist in a political party that thought of and still thinks of gay men as ‘pufti’, it would be highly unlikely that he’d have dared come out, preferring to fulfill his ambitions with a wife as a beard.
If the High Commission did its homework, The Duke would have been briefed about all the sleaze.
It is its duty to do so.
In a very long conversation I had with the Duke’s father during his visit in the late sixties I was amazed at how well briefed he was.
I told him so and he replied that it was the High Commission and Maurice Dorman who had fed him with information over a three month period prior to his visit.
The Duke would probably know, with precision, what the contents of the envelope are.
Everyone is smiling at the Duke’s frustration.
I was under the impression that anyone coming in contact with the royals during a formal occasion is usually vetted by some royal aide- de -camp ,to ensure that no undesirable gets close enough for a photo opportunity that might cause embaressment to the country and the Royal family as a whole in future.
Muscat has proved to us all that he is not to be trusted when he promises something.
But you have to hand it to him that when he decides to smile, he keeps the glowingly warm and very friendly smiles for the men. The more gay they are, or the taller and more powerful and famous, the bigger and warmer the smile.
What a mockery of both the Maltese and British people
“…I’m telling you, my gran’s a queen too!”
Best “funny caption” in a long time!

What value exactly did he add to the conference? What innovative ideas did he contribute? The Silk Road? An idea first ever heard in Malta on this website last year.
The Silk Road. Huh. A term which refers to the land trade route which existed in the primitive times between China, Central Asia and Europe. That was before the discovery of America, before Europe became industrialised, before new trading routes were invented between Europe, America and Asia via the Suez Canal, and before the invention of planes and modern ships, making the land route obsolete.
Now China is re-proposing the Silk Road for another purpose. To benefit from the oil and gas resources en-route and to establish itself as a regional power in a territory of the world which is neighboured by Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan to the south and Russia to the north.
I see that Joseph Muscat did not speak to European and Asian leaders about his innovative idea of selling EU passports to Asian citizens, making them ‘global citizens.’ Was it not such a great idea, after all?
Maybe they are referring to this Silk Road:

“Or maybe the intention was to convince the heir to the British throne that he’s the only straight in the village”.
I wouldn’t be too convinced.
Oh, I guess Myfanwy was referring to the prince.
