Justice Minister Owen Bonnici and backbencher Etienne Grech ticked off for talking all the way through Sunday mass
Government backbencher Etienne Grech, who was recently selected by the prime minister for special attention in his entourage to London, posted a critical remark about Simon Busuttil on his Facebook Timeline.
A constituent posted a comment immediately beneath it saying that he sat behind Grech and (Justice Minister) Owen Bonnici at Sunday mass and couldn’t help noticing how they were deep in discussion together throughout. “You disgusted us. It doesn’t reflect well on you and it doesn’t reflect well on the (Labour) party,” the constituent wrote, clearly upset. “People were talking about it. Couldn’t you have waited until the mass was over and you were outside?”
Etienne Grech’s response? “Thanks tar-rimarka. But we had some very important things to talk about that had been pending for months. I would have preferred it if you had sent this as a private message.”

Jekk nghid li fl-ahhar sab kappell jigih, ikun attakk fahxi u sfrenat?
Le. Imma jekk tifqalu l-bżieżaq ta’ fuq rasu, ikun.
Shouldn’t Ethienne Grech pay a visit to Nejxis Ola for a Brazilian smooth?
kullimkien taghna lkoll
Maybe it if it were Fr. Colin preaching, they would have paid more attention. It would have been music to their ears.
I commented on his profile. We all should.
U ha ghalih u ajjarna hodor.
Just admit to the man it was incorrect behaviour, apologise and move on. Substantiating a wrong with an excuse. Pajjiz fallut
I don’t know why he’s worried that the comment was not a private message – his posts all have less than 20 likes.
The idiot contradicts himself by first claiming he did nothing wrong, and then worries that the comment might put him in a bad light.
And people actually vote for these idiots.
I’m an atheist, and yet I still make it a point to stay silent throughout when I attend church weddings and funerals. I do this out of respect for others.
And here we have a “Christian” who not only disrespects other people with his constant chatter, but actally justifies it by saying he had much more important matters than communing with the God he supposedly believes in.
Typical Maltese.
Oh for goodness sakes! Cut them some slack.
They hadn’t confessed for so long, they confessed each other before Commmunion.
What’s wrong with that?
At least their smart phone did not go off even if switched off. They must have bought a better model than that owned by the (feathered) tit-fancier of Hal Ghaxaq.
Their arrogance has become so acceptable that even God has to move out of church to make space for them. They only love themselves, money and their chronic self importance.
Goes to show that all is done for self promotion. In the meantime, they would rather do as they please and get away with it. And critical remarks are not appreciated at all. Korean style indeed.
Biex gabu ruhhom hekk fil-knisja tista tfisser haga wahda biss. Li moralment huma falluti ghal kollox. L-iktar dispjecir huwa lli dawn jirraprezentawna fl-ghola istituzjoni tal-istat.
Isthu jekk tafu, ja pulcinelli kollkhom.
L-importanti li jkunu l-ewwel filliera u jitilghu jitqarbnu. Insomma, Alla jara kollox.
What a lame excuse. It had been months they wanted to speak about it and they met accidentally at mass.
As if he never met the minister in the last couple of weeks, or months as Dr Grech said.
L-aqwa li marru l-knisja u qaghdu fl-ewwel filliera ghal ghajn in-nies. Qishom xi zewg teenagers li qatt ma kibru.
Thumbs up to this gentleman for commenting the way he did.
Many people know that Dr. Owen Bonnici just loves chatting. I’m just surprised that it was with Dr. Etienne Grech.
Is that JR?
Internet chat is also a type of chatting, but unlike chatting in the front row of Church, internet chat can be private, anonymous and intimate.
Heaven can wait ghax konna ilna x-xhur ma nghidu kelma.
L-iskuza lil Alla trid ittiha, apparti lin-nies li kienu jisimghu l-quddies. Nispera li ma marx jitqarben ukoll meta mohhu ma kienx fil quddies.
