A reader has just commented to this effect:

Can you imagine Opposition leader Eddie Fenech Adami and deputy leader Guido Demarco telling their audience, back in the 1980s, that if the police were to find evidence against Pietru Pawl Busuttil, they would respect that and drop him?

The problem in the case of George Pullicino is that if the current police commissioner is politically motivated enough, he would do anything possible to prosecute, even if he has to come up with “circumstantial evidence.”

We have to wait and see.

    Precisely.

    This comparison is a non-starter.

    Spot on!

Apart from the Pullicino super boob Simon Busuttil’s was a good speech.

As much as i would like him to succeed, as he has some excellent attributes, I’m afraid that it may already be too late for him to overcome his seemingly inbuilt naiveness. M’hemmx hazen.

Well Eddie Fenech Adami sure did not stick up for Michael Frendo over the bus ticketing business when Labour turned all their guns on him.

He let him stew for 9 months till he was cleared by which time the damage was done.

What’s so ironic is that he was accused of going to the UK to inspect the tendered buses, something he did not do but now Joe Mizzi does exactly that and has the gall to say there’s nothing wrong with it. Crap all round.
