Back in my time in St. Aloysius Class 2C was no big deal.
The best pupils who took Latin as a subject were in Class 2A, the ones who took French went to Class 2B.
Second raters went to class 2C for Latin and 2D for French.
If things hadn’t changed by the time Franco Debono and Joseph Muscat got to those classes then they must have been the best among the worst.
