Injoranza grassa – an update

For all the cronies they’ve put on the public payroll as consultants, I cringe when I see how that bunch of hamalli in government don’t even know the basics.

Look at this letter, for instance. Leave aside the fact that it has clearly been written by Manuel Mallia and not by the prime minister, and that it is absolutely disgusting in its abusive and insulting arrogance, its poor composition and its painfully Italianate vocabulary.

When the prime minister communicates formally with Simon Busuttil, he is communicating with the leader of the Opposition and not with the leader of the Nationalist Party.

Prime Minister/Opposition Leader
Labour Party Leader/Nationalist Party Leader

This is not about correct form. This is about that inconvenient little thing called the Constitution. The prime minister and the Opposition leader are constitutional roles and those roles cannot be played around with.

The address of the Opposition leader is not the Nationalist Party headquarters. It is his office at the Palace, Valletta.

If we must insist on voting a bunch of ignorant hamalli into power, can’t we also insist that they raise their snouts from the trough at least for long enough to take a few lessons in how things are done?

This has with absolute certainty been drafted by a lawyer.

And a stupid one at that. Otherwise he would have known the correct address of the Leader of Opposition for one thing.

Don’t waste your breath. You know darn well that the Maltese are unable to draw any connections or lessons.

Upload the letter published by Dr Busuttil and check what a complete difference!

‘fis-1800’ seems quite skewed as well, as if it is half 12hr and half 24hr time reading.

Ma tarax. Lanqas ħaqq il-ħin li jitilfu jitgħallmu. Mhux xorta? L-aqwa li l-bwiet u żaqqhom mimlija. U tinsewx li magħhom għandhom il-prim espert tal-protokoll, li kieku riedu seta’ urihom kif imorru l-affarijiet.Imma għażlu li jibqgħu injoranti bħalma mingħalihom iridu jħallu lilna. Lill-marmalja ta’ warajhom forsi jidħku bihom imma bina ma jidħkux.

Can we have the link to Simon Busuttil’s reply, please?

The PM is at it again, his ‘not me syndrome’ manifesting itself. Can you believe this idiot?

”He [Dr. Muscat] said he would not shirk his responsibility as Dr Busuttil had done but would shoulder it, as he was used to doing.” TOM

The PM’s modus operandi: sink into the muck, demand the opposition does something ridiculous to ensure you can make them accomplices to the deed and then blame them when they refuse to do it.

    Basta ghamlu d-DOKTOR.

    Sad-DOKTOR.

  9. Jason King says:

The only reason they wanted to be in power was to rob as much as they can before the game was up.

They could not believe their luck in getting back into government in 2013.

But it took a generation for them to return to government and therefore a majority of the electorate had no recollection what it was like to be governed by MLP.

Once there is nothing left and everything they can sell has gone then they will be quite content to lose the next election.

  10. ronnie says:

‘ai termini’; what an absolute giveaway that this has been drafted by a lawyer.

Also, if they are going to write in Maltese they should at least install the correct Maltese fonts.

  11. Arturo Mercieca says:

The letter was definitely written by a lawyer but I would not bet that it was written by Manuel Mallia.

It may well have been drafted by Toni Abela or by Pawlu Lia.

Is there no one at the Auberge de Castille who knows how to use Maltese fonts? They’re easily available on any MS OS.

The letter is shabby and it should have been reproduced on an official letterhead and in the signed version. Rather than a Tagħna Lkoll it looks more like a Kollox Jgħaddi Suq u Ġerri affair.

  12. Lizz says:

Actually, pond life and Mallia is the alpha toad.

  13. c says:

And where are the Maltese fonts?

An official letter issued by the PM in Maltese must be typed in the Maltese official fonts.

There is a directive issued by the Auberge de Castille to government officials on this. This is the same Muscat who walked out of the European Parliament when he was once not provided with Maltese translation. Really a bunch of incompetent people.

  14. Ghoxrin Punt says:

It was not signed in order to allow joseph to get out of it if the common consensus is that he should not have written the letter. So wait for muscat’s denial of any knowledge of said letter in a few days time.
