Now the Minister’s tweet ‘looking after those who protect us’ takes a new perspective! Rest assured that

  2. giraffa says:

Not only will this incident be wiped under the carpet but the policeman, off duty, shooting guns in a public area, etc. will be declared a ‘suldat ta’ l-azzar’ and promoted to a higher rank

  3. T. Cassar says:

The minister says that his driver is a security driver. But what was he protecting when he shot at Mr. Smith? The wing mirror?

  4. Augustus says:

Have gun will travel. Licensed to kill.

  5. Daisy Wells says:

Last Tuesday late in the morning the Hon Minister was walking all alone through Republic Street beaming at people who where not giving a hoot he was passing by.

If he needs so much security whilst being driven around, how come he is not afraid to go through the most busy street in Malta around noon?

    • Drinks With Vince Micallef says:

Nobody is going to so much as go up to him to shake his hand now, just in case they’re taken out by snipers lined up on the roofs of Republic Street.

  6. M says:

If the minister’s driver said that he tried to block the other car, can you really say that the British man tried to ram him. What else can you do if a car is blocking your way, reverse on a main road?

‘When the two cars arrived near Tal-Qroqq tunnels, the minister’s driver attempted to block the other car and the Briton tried to ram the minister’s car. He then got out of his car with a beer bottle in hand.’

This story has more holes than my kitchen sieve.

But my favourite Times statement has to be ‘It was not clear how the bullet holes penetrated the back of the Briton’s vehicle,…’

I always thought that a weapon is discharged and the bullet leaves the weapon, travels in the direction in which it is shot, allowing for wind direction and speed and also for gravity, the bullet usually enters whatever it comes into contact with. So ‘how’ is not mysterious at all, but in this case the ‘when’ is the question.

Of course there is the little issue that bullet HOLES do not penetrate anything, it is the bullets that do.

What an idiot – no wonder he votes labour.

  10. Jason Grima says:

Is that Sai Mizzi in the Transporter poster?

    • Drinks With Vince Micallef says:

You shouldn’t say things like that. Her marriage to Konrad Mizzi is as strong as ever, remember. The DOI told you.

  11. Mim says:

I have a feeling that if Mr. Smith ever said boo to a goose in his life, we will hear about it.

I wonder if the driver’s first words to Mr. Smith were : ”Stop, do you know who I am?!!”

  12. ron says:

Is there any one member of the PL government that does not lie?

We still haven’t been told if it was a police gun or a private gun.
