He’s been chewing gum and tweeting relentlessly just behind the finance minister as he reads the budget speech.

And most probably reading your posts in between tweets.
Whilst listening and seeing the General Elections’ Results Expert , alias Dr. Scicluna, I noticed him playing with his mobile.
In parliament chewing gum. But he is not the only one; there is at least one minister in the front line chewing.
Has anyone noticed the Speaker of the House? Something is wrong with him. He is either bored or worried.
Do you blame him?
Luciano? A total idiot and totally irrelevant.
The look on Muscat’s face puts the Cheshire Cat to shame tonight. I wonder why?
As for Edward Scicluna, is this man serious? A 5% tax on all residential properties is an extraordinary burden – just do some maths.
This government has just created a tax liability of 5% on all residential properties in Malta payable by practically everyone.
Madonna, Scicluna ghejja jaqra. Dalwaqt jaqa ma l-art.
What was that, an attempt to “shock and awe”?
Father Christmas came early this year.
Was the budget “costed”?
His sleight of hand may be exceptional but he’s rather a slow thinker so ‘Quick Fingers Larry’ is chewing the cud before speaking about the budget.
Are we living in Chinaland?

Il-hamallu tal-parlament.

I bet Mallia will apply for this but instead of school transport he will use his ministerial or Do You Know Who I Am car.
He will be the first to set up the trust fund for his children. Ajma hey, five hundred thousand tax free in the near future.
Jidhirli €150 u mhux €500
Jista’ xi hadd jghallem lil Ministru tak-Finanzi kif jaqra bil-Malti?
L-isbah wahda li qal: ak ka de mi ja
Is he always that challenged? He cannot even read a budget speech. What does he do in the international fora? He just keeps silent, I suppose.
Malajr hadhomli il-” free childcare”. Anybody else selling their house here?
With one stroke of a pen, property is no longer an asset. Except, of course, if you have inherited old houses or you are a contractor who has a lot of ‘chicken pen’ style apartments which you couldn’t get rid of.
U l-popolin jifrah bil-loqom.
I think the correct scientific word for Luciano’s way of consuming gum is not ‘chewing’ but ‘ruminating’.
(Jixtarr, mhux jomghod).
Asked about his prediction that Malta would need a bailout under a Labour government, Dr Busuttil remarked that certain symptoms which had preceded financial crises in the countries which needed a bail out could also be found here, such as exaggerated public debt, falling exports, a drop in industrial production and a spike in civil service recruitment.
