Stop the presses: Edward Zammit Lewis has been to a travel fair

Published: November 5, 2014 at 9:27pm

The government’s Department of Information has released the hot news (+ thrilling pics) that Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis has just been to “one of the biggest travel fairs in the United Kingdom” – or, in their turgid form of Maltese: JATTENDI GĦALL-WAĦDA MILL-AKBAR FIERI FIL-QASAM TAT-TURIŻMU FIR-RENJU UNIT – WORLD TRAVEL MARKET.

I am sure we are all quite fascinated. Now, about that business with Air Malta being sold off to…

That guy’s facial expression (top left corner) is priceless

Saviour Balzan has taken to blocking twitter accounts also. He learnt quickly from his mentor. So much for freedom of speech. Hypocrite.

Skoprew l-Amerika. Mela hasbu li hadd qatt ma mar il-World Travel Market.

Dak mhux post il-Ministru imma jkun mimli operaturi tal-ivvjaggar u lukandiera. Jista’ jibbukkja ghas-sena d-diehla jekk irid.

    Marritx xi delegazzjoni Londra wkoll?

Daphne, since you updated the format of your site we no longer have the possibility to move from one post to another as before (there was a “newer” and “older” tab on the top). It would help to have something similar to aid navigation.

      Adjust, adapt, move on!

I personally prefer the new style muchly! Although Daphne, look into making the site more mobile friendly. As in, the readers’ comments as they are, don’t fit properly on a mobile screen (I’m an Android….).

      First World Problems!

      • mattie says:

Agreed. The pages are more user-friendly. Thanks Daphne.

      • Claude Sciberras says:

Neil, so you prefer having to go back to the front page each time you want to read the next article?

I adjust and adapt very well but if something can be done with ease you would have to be a masochist to prefer a more complex option.

    Hello Daphne,

Wanted to point out Paul Pantalleresco will be out on Parole tomorrow (Nov 6th). He’s the guy caught tampering with Enemalta smart meters and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment on February 14th (http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20140214/local/tampering.506770) Apparently he’s a ‘Taghna Lkoll’ man well connected to the Gaffarena Family on his wife’s side. He had his first parole review a couple of weeks ago and Enemalta had reservations and was declined. This decision was given to him and lawyer. Ohrog il-ghageb a couple of weeks later he is going to granted parole.

    • Gino says:

And let’s not forget about the 1,000+ users who equally are guilty of a crime that’s been forgiven.

As far as I know, only Paul Pantalleresco has suffered the consequences of this scandal so far.

All the users are equally committing a crime and getting out Scot free with just a fine. Let’s not be hypocritical bastards, shall we?

  6. Arthur Dent says:

I agree .The old navigation buttons were quite convenient.

  7. anthony says:

The DOI even tells us poor mortals that Londra is fir-Renju Unit.

    Is it really?

  8. Neil says:

Like a teenager on Facebook. Did he check-in and tag his mates at the airport too?

  9. Joe Fenech says:

Ara xi hlew ! I’ve been to hundreds of them and no one reported it in the news. The injustice of it all.

  10. one of us says:

They’re very selective aren’t they. They tell us about Zammit Lewis but not about Toni’s adventures in China or Mallia’s most recent trip which meant he wasn’t around when the bomb went off.

  11. Malti ta' Veru says:

You know anyone would think this was a really innovative move, attending the World Travel Market in London.

  12. GiovDeMartino says:

    Bil-Malti niktbu ghal wahda u mhux ghall-wahda.
