Nikita Zammit Alamango, a failed Labour Party candidate in the last general election, a member of the Labour Party’s national executive, of Forum Zaghzagh Laburisti and of Nisa Laburisti, has been put on the state payroll as ‘PR & marketing manager’ at ARMS Ltd, along with fellow member of Nisa Laburisti, PL activist and current estranged wife of Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, Carmen Ciantar, who was made ARMS CEO without a call for applications or interview process.

Zammit Alamango was also appointed to the board of the Water Services Corporation when Labour was elected to government. At the time, she was just 23.

So now she is a director of the water utility company and also an employee of its billing agency.

In an interview during the election campaign, Zammit Alamango said:

I cherish the basic social democratic principles of PL, which aim to create a socially inclusive society while promoting employment and social justice for all.

PL embraces the fundamental human rights as inscribed on the ECHR and strives to give every individual equal opportunity, especially in sectors like education and employment.

Moreover, the party believes in strengthening the economy with the aim of sustaining social welfare, and ensuring social justice.

The PL truly believes in establishing a new democracy which respects the community, environment, culture and national heritage which serves as social progress in society.

And then when it came down to it, she wasn’t averse to a spot of abusive cronyism and taxpayer funding without an interview process or having to compete in the private sector for the salary she banks. Taghna lkoll, Nikita.

You forgot to mention that for some time she was one of Owen’s conquests and keychains, permanently dangling at his side.

No wonder ARMS is so messed up.

Is that pink thing in her hand battery-operated?

This morning, on the Labour Party’s radio station, ARMS employee Nikita Alamango, ARMS CEO Carmen Ciantar and ex Labour MEP Claudette Abela Baldacchino were interviewed about the indispensable contribution which Ghaqda Nisa Laburisti is making to the continual renewal of the Partit Laburista.

I switched off after the first question: “Jistghu l-irgiel jiehdu sehem fl-Ghaqda Nisa Laburisti?”

    Keep her away from Kon-rat.

Enclosed with every water and electricity bills, ARMS Ltd are sending two flyers encouraging those with overdue balances to benefit from an interest reduction scheme of up to 75%. These are being sent to all and sundry.

In this day and age, they could have targeted only those with overdue balances.

Is this the efficiency that was promised before the election?

Don’t we have a Minister for the Reduction of Red Tape, or am I wrong about that? The only one to benefit from this wastage is the paper supplier, whoever that may be. I trust it is not the prime minister’s chief of staff.

Correct and that scheme was a farce. It closed 31st October.

It was a sneak tactic to recover the funds. The flyer was also misleading. I understood it that by the 31st October you need to apply and ‘decide’ when to pay the balance – 1, 2 or 3 months. So to be eligible for the 75%, you need to pay within a month.

When I went to pay my bill, I was asked to pay everything now, otherwise I won’t be eligible for the 75%. I told her that the application form says to pay next month. She said NO NOW. Thanks!

PL they are simply great of taking people for a ride!

Nikita Zammit Alamango – isn’t she the one who was sacked as a newspaper columnist because she submitted one of Gillian Tett’s Financial Times columns as her own?

    [Daphne – Yes.]
