The criminal defence lawyer mentality

That’s exactly Manuel Mallia’s problem – or rather, one of his several problems: he can’t get out of criminal defence mode, as the PN deputy leader has pointed out here.

He called his driver twice “biex jara kif inhu” – why? It’s not like he was shot at three times.
No mention at all of calling to apologize to the guy who was at the receiving end of his driver’s madness.
No need to call the person who was shot at, he is not one of them so he does not matter.
Did they say anywhere that the shooter was arrested? After all at the time it was the word of one man against another.
Even now when there seems to be no doubt that the driver discharged his weapon at the other man’s car – there are bullet entry holes in that car – he was only suspended from escort duties and no one would say if he has been suspended from his job.
He called his driver/enforcer to see if he collected Mr Toad’s loan interest money off that UK guy.
MDM should follow Simon’s lead and call for MM’s immediate resignation and not simply comment on FB that MM should carry out his duties.
What happened is unacceptable.
[Daphne – Aside from the fact that the constant, lazy use of people’s initials is intolerable and confusing, it wasn’t ‘Simon’ who demanded the minister’s removal, but the Nationalist Party. These things are not done on an individual basis, but on a party basis.]
Does he get any sleep at night? He probably sees all those criminals he defended marching past across the dark bedroom teasing him with hundreds of thousands of euros.
Criminals he defended and those he defrauded…. counting the sheep to get to sleep.
Didn’t you hear? Instead of counting sheep, he counts criminals. The more the merrier.
What is to be wondered at is not “how does he manage to get to sleep?” but “how does he manage to go out and face people without feeling embarassed?”
How many people will turn their back on him at a public event?
At the last count, someone who asked this question about Her Holy Soap Dish, went right up to her at an event and “networked.”
Why write anything if one doesn’t follow through?
The PN should forward a motion in Parliament for Manoel Mallia’s resignation.
The MLP used to do it all the time and for petty reasons when they were in the opposition benches.
Mela sirna bhalhom?
We’re doing it right here and now.
Dr DeMarco could have been even more precise and told Minister Mallia to stop acting like a defence lawyer “in criminal cases”. I have avoided the usual nomenclature – “a criminal lawyer” for the sake of precision.
Such a declaration is totally out of place given that the PN has called for Mallia’s resignation. Carry on? When his position is untenable?
