There are five soldiers lined up behind Konrad Mizzi and one in front of him

Look at these photographs. In particular, look at the man in the white T-shirt and dark track-pants walking in front of the Minister for Energy. Those trousers say ‘AFM’.
The five men lined up in formation behind Konrad Mizzi are dressed identically. He has five soldiers protecting his back and one clearing the way in front.
Soldiers, not policemen. At a charity run.
We’re in Pablo Escobar territory here. They’ve either gone mad in a Tiberius-cum-Nero way, or there’s something going on that we’re not being told about. It’s as though they’re scared of being knocked off like many of Manuel Mallia’s clients have been, in a steady stream over the last three years.

What’s in the bergen? First aid kit or weapons?
I’d say there is the milestone schedule to which he said we can hold him.
Hence the six soldiers around him – we wouldn’t want anyone to steal it and leak it to the media, would we?
That’s not even remotely funny.
I say the bergen weighs about 5-7 kg. I didn’t see any of the VIPs hydrating. One handgun each, and two bullets in the chest for anyone who refuses to shake the VIPs’ hands.
They have not gone mad.
Something is rotten in the state of … Malta.
One of them seems to hold a haversack, most likely filled with cheer gas just in case it gets gloomy.
Faces of thugs
Why do thugs have thug faces? A thug with Konrad Mizzi’s face and facial expressions would be hilarious.
They are protecting the national intelligence.
Is Konrad Mizzi wearing layers of sweaters beneath the T Shirt, to avoid catching a cold that would otherwise jeopardize the negotiations for the new timeline with the Chinese and the Azeris for the new power station before the promised end of November, or is he wearing a bullet-proof vest beneath that T shirt?
Either way, he looks like a moron.
You have a point.
Yes, every other person’s T-shirt ends cleanly at the neck, but not Konrad Mizzi’s.
He’ s a dead ringer for Jaws (the James Bond villain).
Exactly. Ghandu wicc ta’ bahnan.
Bullet-proof jacket under the T-shirt?
Maybe he is wearing a bullet proof vest under those tops.
OMG, what’s going on? Wiehed facilment jassumi li mhux x-xufiera ta’ Manwel Mallia biss qed igorru l-armi.
Do you remember when Prime Minister Mintoff met Opposition Leader Dr Eddie Fenech Adami on TV for their first political debate?
The scene at Guardamangia was similar to what we normally see at a war zone. Armed soldiers in every corner and a helicopter hovering above.
It seems that your followers stay awake all night waiting to comment on each subject which you bring up. It is the same with me.
#Konrad #3Sweaters #riha ta basal #5soldiers #BennyHill #BananaRepublic
It seems that they turned a fun run into a gun run.
One thing is for sure. With the level of courage and loyalty in Malta being zero, if a situation were to arise you could be fairly certain no one would be taking any bullets for anyone so it is all for show.
At this point it’s more likely that he’s wearing a bullet proof vest.
My God, they are literally running scared.
There are two possibilities: either this is just a show coming from elected brats who feel important and need to make lots of noise after decades in Opposition while the country was bring brought out of the Dark Ages, or, through Mallia’s security services or underworld contacts, they have received what they perceive as a credible threat, in which case they should be prancing around in “fan” runs and risk involving general public as unwitting human shields.
Would these AFM soldiers be paid overtime and who pays in this case?
I know it’s us but would love to hear the answer to a parliamentary question. Most probably, “mhux fl-interress tal-poplu” is all we’ll get.
Were they carrying concealed weapons, surrounded by all those harmless people?
And just look at their tensed-up expression. They are all eyes. They must have been instructed to be really vigilant and leave nothing to chance.
One soldier for each day he has left to come with a timeline for the new pawerstejjxin. Brace for impact!
Was the slogan ‘Gvern li jisma’ mill-poplu’ or was it ‘Gvern li jibza’ mill-poplu’?
If Konrad Mizzi feels he needs five body guards to protect him, I suggest he changes his job as it’s not worth it.
Chances are, someone in office may think it is necessary.
The high majority of Maltese are not violent and do not feel the need for such protection. On the other hand, if you are surrounded by the low minority with a twisted mind, you will end up being paranoid.
Apart from their uniform clothes, you can recognise the soldiers by their frowns. Is it mandatory for them to look grim and ramboesque?
It is highly likely that the minister is wearing a bullet proof vest under the T shirt. This is evident from the previous close up photo.
U iehor quddiemu.
La mhux jghix mohhu mistrieh, sinjal li ghamel il-hazin.
I am very surprised at this obsession of fear. Why ? What’s behind the scenes ?
What on earth is he wearing?
A sweatshirt with a hood, in case he catches cold.
Very valid arguments which merit consideration and discussion.
It is not usual that we have such strong criticism from Times of Malta and from Malta Today. For me this means only one thing. Muscat is trying to get all the help he can get (without being seen as the prime mover) to get rid of Mallia and Scerri.
Suspension pending the outcome of a magisterial inquiry does not suffice in this case.
Incidentally, as a leading criminal lawyer, Dr Mallia ought to know that in such circumstances, a magisterial inquiry kicks in automatically and there is no need for his ministry – or any other ministry – to do so, as he gave the impression to try to prove how transparent his office is.
Nobody should be too concerned that the matter is given a political twist. There is no need for that. The matter is as political as it is an issue of law and order.

I do not understand the amount of security with a minister. Something is seriously amiss here.

Sejrin tajbin ta’ Decesare ma’ dan il-gvern.
Hypothetically speaking, if one of them does get knocked off – and let’s face it, they’re playing with international criminals and now with guns – then you know it will be spun in a way that the PN will get the blame.
We should zero in on Silvio (Parnis) and Chris (Agius) and try to guess what that luminary (Silvio) is telling the other … erm … luminary (Chris).
Maybe he upset the Chinese. You don’t mess round with them.
Is Konrad Mizzi wearing layers of sweaters or is he wearing some sort of bulletproof jacket underneath the Banif T-shirt?
Kmieni wisq ghal din il-biza kollha.
Muscat owes us an explanation.
We should all be reading this article again. With all that has been happening this week, it takes on another meaning.
The only difference between the two cases is the hard evidence that we have in the shooting case while it is more difficult to have that kind of proof in the alleged conspiracy to murder.
Whether these suspicions are unfounded or not is irrelevant to the main point at issue here: that the general public, and Stephanie Chircop in particular, cannot be serene in the knowledge that the police are conducting a fair and proper investigation into the matter as long as Silvio Scerri remains their minister’s chief of staff. And given the close relationship between the police minister and his chief of staff, those suspicions will unfortunately stay on even if the unthinkable happens and Scerri decides to do the decent thing and step down at least until matters are concluded.

Given the highly possible connections with organised crime, I’d go a step further and ask whether there are indirect links to terrorist groups.
If there are, then we are all in danger and since the soldiers are busy protecting the cabinet, who’s going to protect us?

Chinese fans make video for Law Commissioner.
Of course they had to use AFM soldiers to guard those precious cabinet ministers at the FAN RUN.
Do you think there are fit police officers any longer? Most have been brought in from retirement while the rest scoff pastizzi and qassatat all day and are as fat and unfit as the Police Minister.
one of the security men seems to be saying “ara min ihares lejh”
This administration has shown that no demarcation lines exist in roles and responsibilities, in conflict of interests, and indeed in law and order.
Anything goes in the pursuit of power.
They are protecting The Minister of the Sawt in case he gets mobbed by his fans on his fan run.
Yes the soldiers are paid on Sundays but in less amounts than normal working days which I guess is against the law, while the police are give twice as much as they are on weekdays. That is why they use AFM members, to pay by cheap labour.
You people surely don’t know what you are talking about… You are all creating false theories. All there was in the bergin are the jackets, 8 jackets 1 for each soldier for after the event and a bottle or two of water. And their job was only to keep the crowd behind the VIPs with the help of more volunteer civilian people by creating a line behind the VIPs.
If you still believe there where weapons and ammo in the bergin, you are dead wrong.
