Inspections

Of course not. And the reason why was uploaded on this website last night (link below)

The man who gave me that account is not anonymous to me – I just thought it best to leave his name out of it – and he was actually part of the inspection team in 2009.

He explains here how the inspectors, who were accompanied by police officers, met with strong resistance as soon as they entered the building, that they realised something was really wrong, that some employees tried to escape out the back way and were found to have no papers, that other (Chinese) employees behaved strangely as though they wanted to speak to the inspectors, and that Bin Han made several phone calls to get the inspection called off – in the inspectors’ presence – following which the leader of the inspection team received a phone call from John Dalli, there and then, to call off the exercise immediately.

John Dalli was then the minister responsible for the Employment and Training Corporation, which was conducting the inspection.

  1. John Dalli's reaction says:

Nichad din l-akkuza! Din hija conspiracy theory kontrija ivvintata minn Barroso, Kessler u Lawrence Gonzi. Joseph, help please. Regghu qed jaqbu mieghi.

I am finding it extremely difficult to manouevre pages in your blog. Is there something you should tell us?

[Daphne – Not really, no. You just click on a title and read it, then use the back button to go back to the home page and click on another title that interests you. There are numbers at the bottom of the page that allow you to go back to articles that appeared earlier and which have since moved off the home page.]

Since this has been brought up, Daphne I particularly miss the ‘Older’ and ‘Newer’ tabs. I never miss a post, and usually find my way to the last one I’d read and work my way forward from that, using the ‘Newer’ tab.

It is particularly useful when you pin older posts to the top of the page. This tends to confuse me as I usually expect the top post to be the latest, and risk missing out.

Please bring back the ‘Older’ and ‘Newer’ tabs.

The article about Owen Bonnici has gone off line…

I like the new feel to the page but the text is a tab small…

Bob, in Google you click on the customize and control button (top right) select zoom and make the changes you want..

Any other browser will have something similar.

You don’t need them. Just navigate the pages below. I love the new look, by the way.

I like the new look of your site and have no problem finding older posts via the page numbers. In fact I find it simpler. Good job.

If ever there was a man with the brown touch, it’s John Dalli.

  7. C Falzon says:

One of the biggest mistakes Fenech Adami made was to resign before sorting out the Dalli problem and instead lumping it on Gonzi.

Fenech Adami always managed to keep Dalli in check to a greater or lesser extent and also got some good work out of him, but I’m sure he must have known that Gonzi couldn’t even begin to keep him under control.

I’m also quite confident that Fenech Adami was perfectly capable of easing Dalli out of the PN before resigning. Why he did not is something I will probably never understand.

On another note ‘prosit tal-programm’ on the new format of this site.
