Did we think Silvio Scerri is going to be the fall-guy? Well, he isn’t.

We hadn’t factored in how heavily dependent the government is on his set-up and lighting services, and how much he has done for the Labour Party. If the party doesn’t owe him huge amounts of money, then it owes him big-time for doing all that for free.

This is a Nexos lorry, photographed outside the side entrance to the Office of the Prime Minister today.

As though the situation wasn’t bad enough already, with his business servicing the government when he is head of secretariat to the Minister of the Interior. Now it’s way beyond worse, given what is going on.

    Well said.

  2. Tabar says:

Somebody texted Newsdesk on NET TV to say that they had a phone call to go and give support to Mallia. They were offered free transport.

    Newsdesk on radio 101.

  4. Jojo says:

Probably the fall guy will be an important member of the Police Corp

  5. P Shaw says:

There should be a PQ on how much each ministry, state agency, public corporations, PBS, president’s office, etc are paying to Nexos.

I have a strong suspicion that every state-funded public event is obliged to use the services of Nexos.

Just wait for CHOGM next year.

    • Brimbu says:

If Nexos wins the contract and gets paid for it (via invoice etc), up to a point all well and good.It is when he does not charge (especially political parties) that worries me most.

  6. Min Jaf says:

It is increasingly looking like Manwel Mallia and Silvio Scerri are running the country. Joseph Muscat is powerless.

  7. ken il malti says:

If Silvio Scerri is made the fall guy then he will go and beat them up, if he perceives that they are physically weaker that him that is.

  8. C Falzon says:

If it were to come to that it’s the Prime Minister that would be made a fall guy rather than Silvio Scerri or Manuel Mallia.

  9. il-Ginger says:

The guy nearly blinded Muscat by mistake, imagine what he could do on purpose.

    Ja hanzir

Just because he’s the fall guy it doesn’t mean they won’t do business with him.

I do think he’s fighting back currently and it’s not impossible that he could get spared if they pin all the blame on Sheehan, a few other police officers and maybe the Coconut for effect.

Nobody is going to be the sacrificial lamb.

Muscat plans to be the prime minister for many years.

He and his ministers can afford to be arrogant and do as they please as they are secure in the knowledge that the Chinese government will finance MLP party.

After all Muscat gave them Enemalta on silver plate.

  13. Mim says:

There are some whose skills set make them unsuitable to be the fall guy. Their ‘investments’ make sure of that and those around them know it.
