A number of people had access to those phone calls, not only members of the Police Corps. The three judges, for instance.
Moreover, many members of his own party wanted to bring Manuel Mallia down including those who couldn’t stomach the fact that this switcher got so far, as well as others who may benefit from his sacking.
Who undermined the people’s trust in the police corps in the first place?
And is he implying we should “move on” from this “Mallia’s driver” incident which is anything but resolved?
Ghax issa tajna demotion lil Ray Zammit, u Mallia qed jahsibha jirrizenjax, problem solved, OK siehbi?
And then the cheek: attakk fahxi fuq kull cittadin onest…
Him – Mr Crass – lecturing people on democracy?
Jason, cittadini onesti hadu pjacir li nkixfu il-borom.
L-attakk serju fuq demokrazija sar mill-gvern, ghaliex gideb biex jghatti xturu.
U kemm il-darba il-PL gab informazzjoni mill-korp ? Tilghaba tal-vergni ?
‘Ara min qed jitkellem. Nesa x’maghmlux waqt zmienhom fl’Opposizjoni ghal 22 seña. Ipokrita
This is another proof that all the big brass within the PL preferred a COVERUP.
Kulhadd jaf kemm int injurant imma issa ghaggibtni bil-livell gholi ta’ injuranza li ghandek.
Dan huwa kas kif ikun whistleblower biex jiddefendi lic-cittadin kontra il-hazen. Veru int arci-injurant.
Min ghadda dawn ir-recordings lill-media haqqu Gieh ir-Repubblika, ghax ikkonfwermaw kemm ghandna gvern korrott.
“Strong with the weak, weak with the strong”. Let us hope he was not WEAK in his deal with Shangai Electric.
So the government thought that Sheehan was merit certificate material. In his next incident, that we know of, a press release was orchestrated where every bit of blame was deflected off him.
Some thought the public should know that he was actually a lying, manipulative, trigger-happy adrenalin junkie, even managing to get the other guy arrested and evidence tempered with BUT Jason Micallef thinks that exposing this is a threat to democracy?
It might come as a shock, Jason Micallef, but democracy is not what Mintoffians like you think it is and say it is. Of course, those who got some real education instead of a recommendation from uncle Freddie before they got a job would know this.
Have you ever considered a lifelong learning course? You just might pick up a useful thing or two.
Il-whistleblowers se jnehhilhom is-suffara?
He still hasn’t lost the ‘attakk fahxi’ from his days at ONE. Honest Maltese citizens are glad that these recordings came to light Mr Jason Micallef.
So if this was an ‘attakk fahxi fuq kull cittadin onest’, then you and your fellow skip dwellers need not worry, since you don’t form part of this group, whom most of us Maltese are proud to belong to.
It just shows his warped understanding of democracy. For Jason Micallef, “l-attakk serju hafna [fuq] id-demokarizija” isn’t the attempted cover-up by the authorities but the leaks that uncovered the cover-up.
Let he who has no sin throw the first stone, Jason.
He and his ilk had better get used to the fact that half the population are watching – and they can’t get rid of all of us.
This especially when they try to do things that they shouldn’t.
Well said Jason, provided one takes your comments as a big joke.
How dare you talk about democracy in the light of such a deplorable state of the PL in government?
Do you think that anyone is concerned about the media leaking to the public such scandals with the assistance of some in-house personnel at the Police HQ?
Do you think that however helped the PN media to announce FACTS to the public did so because they hate democracy, or because they wish to see democracy take its natural course of making ALL FACTS known to the people?
Shame on you Jason, and keep playing your games until your downfall will follow as a member of the disgusting PL ‘Taghna Lkoll’ club.
Ghaliex imminar tal-korp? Ghax kixfulhom il-warrani?
Jason! Bis-serjeta’? L-imminar fil-Korp tal-Pulizija ghamlu min bghabas fil-provi u min ghattielhom.
L-imminar fil-Korp tal-Pulizija jibqa’ sakemm ikun hemm l-indhil tal-politici, haga li kienet mill-aktar evidenti taht dan il-Gvern. Ghad irridu nistennew u naraw il-bidla x’se tfisser.
Yes, because the police force needs protection from the Nationalist Party.
The bloody nerve of these people.
Jason, have you forgotten Sabrina Agius at RTK?
That was OK then because it was Joseph Muscat who planted her there to leak information.
And can you swear that no policemen ever leaked information from Police Headquarters to the Centru Laburista and Super ONE TV and radio?
Jason, the whistle blower act is a double edged sword!
Apparently, Jason knows what he is saying considering the 25 years experience in Opposition.
They do love the word “fahxi” so.
This government passed a Whistleblower’s Act, thus morally justifying all leakages which uncover truth being maliciously hidden.
However I heard it said that it was Silvio Scerri who passed them on, perhaps trying to curry favour with PN not that he is set to be booted out of PL.
Attakk fahxi iehor fuq il-cover ups taghna lkoll. Iz-zigg….heil.
Typo, SS now set to be booted out of PL.
I propose Jason Micallef as the patron saint of whistleblowers.
Here is an example of what happens when one goes after the messenger while the culprit goes free.
Oct 2007: Osteopath posed for pics with body parts (no charges made)
Jan 2014: Osteopath Anthony Agius ‘abused and manipulated’ vulnerable female patient
Dec 2014: Osteopath found guilty of abusing patients, struck off UK register now promoting practice in Malta

Besides distress to patients this story is no doubt also impacting the other professional osteopath of the same name who practices in the same city.
Web pages promoting the struck off Anthony Agius are still around on the web:

After only twenty months of Muscat’s Labour government there are no honest Maltese citizens left who can have trust in our police force to defend them from trigger-happy constables discharging their Glock automatic side arms in the public street, endangering pedestrians, because the side window of an empty ministerial car was damaged.
Missed the point totally, Jason. Would the government have made the recordings public?
If it were not for the recordings made public by the PN then Manwel Mallia would still be minister.
You’re the only idiot to blurt out this rubbish even if a lot of your ilk are thinking this way.
I’m not surprised as his puppet master must be throwing major hissy fits, as he might be compromised.
Can Mr. Micallef give us the definition of what a whistle-blower is?
Does he understand the meaning of a whistleblower?
Hacking can sometimes work both ways, they should keep in mind.
Jason and the Labour Party think that they have some kind of copyright on whistle blowing. Despite boasting in Parliament of passing a law on whistle blowing, it is obvious that no one wants to run the risk of being victimised by government if one gives information to uncover a government scandal. People still fear the labour government because it has always shown it is capable of vindication. There are other scandals going on in government departments but employees are afraid to talk.
If it werenˋt for these officials the public wouldnˋt have known what has happened. This government cannot be trusted because up to now it has always been on the side of those escaping justice. If it weren’t for the persons who leaked the information about this scandal, the attempt by government to hide it would have succeeded. Prosit whistle blowers!
Shouldn’t Jason Micallef be happy that Silvio Scerri and potentially, Anton Attard, will be out of the way?
Incredible. He is attacking the people who have acted in the interest of democracy and the honest truth. What remains of our trust in the police is thanks to these unsung heroes.
Attakk fahxi mill-pulizija ma jimpurtax imma Jason hux?
