  1. Xjim Purtani says:

Hey…one thing at a time. First things first. There will be no monorail, or a bridge to Gozo. Most probably an airstrip.

    • Chris says:

But do you need a monorail or a bridge when you can just as easily get a kickback through a feasibility study costing a few million?

  2. Bully Beef says:

If the government wants to tap EU funds for this project than that memorandum of understanding is worth jackshit. EU projects by rule have to be offered as public tenders in the most transparent way.

  3. Patrik says:

Man, I hate this. I so want Malta to have a monorail, yet it’s obvious this deal is as rotten as every single other deal ever made by this government.

  4. Imma nghid jien ghaliex din is-segretezza kollha?

Ftehim bhal dan (jekk dejjem hu tajjeb ghal Malta) ghadhom jinghataw prominenza kbira. Imma ma nemminx. You cheat me once and I’ll never believe a single word coming out of your mouth, Muscat.

  5. C Falzon says:

When Muscat goes on these trips it is not to get anything for Malta but just to give them what he had promised for services already rendered by these dictatorships, or perhaps just giving them assurance that he will do so soon.

  6. Spock says:

Secrecy and lack of accountability have become normal practice. Let’s not be complacent about this continuous undermining of democracy and fight it tooth and nail as we have tackled the shooting cover-up.

This government must be continuously held to account, and we shouldn’t drop our guard on all fronts for a moment because at any given time it’s signing a series of secret “memoranda of understanding” with the most repressive regimes in the world.
