Godwin Sant would have been better off if his driver had shot at someone

Joseph Muscat personally suspended Malta Resources Authority official Godwin Sant on Sunday morning as soon as Malta Today published a story saying Sant had received two tickets to a football match from oil company Trafigura.

But when his Police Minister’s driver went on a mad shooting rampage at night in the ministerial car, he didn’t sack Ray Zammit the ‘acting’ police commissioner and there were three weeks of protracted discussion in the media before he finally begged and pleaded with Manuel Mallia to resign so that he wouldn’t have to replace – not sack – him.

    Daphne, one quick question.

Are those public servants who accept Christmas hampers any different from this poor sod?

Some hampers may well be more expensive than a match ticket.

Certain members have it by the book while others it’s laissez-faire. It was like that with every Labour government and it still is.

What I cannot understand is how Muscat still leads Busuttil by 15 points.

Because people are afraid of this government so when phoned for their opinion they either hang up or just say that they support Joseph. That’s what I do.

I would not risk it. I have close relatives employed in the public sector.

The full force of the law is invariably applied against non-Taghna Lkollers. Where Taghna Lkollers are involved, every possible hurdle is thrown in the way including the contamination of evidence to prevent justice taking its course. Such is the rule of law according to Joseph Muscat.

    A story of two tickets.

Godwin Sant gets the boot for accepting a match ticket from Trafigura. The government of today considers removing the ‘pardon’ for George Farrugia due to this.

The same government, when in Opposition, demanded Tonio Fenech’s resignation for accepting a free flight and ticket for a similar match. Those were provided by Joe Gasan and George Fenech who incidentally are/were the primary Maltese shareholders in the Electro Gas consortium.

Trafigura get blacklisted by Enemalta. Electro Gas win a tender for hundreds of millions of euros.

  7. Double standards all along.

Yet, blind followers lap it up.
