Anything but gentlemen
There’s an interesting piece in Times of Malta today which illustrates just how disgraceful and ungentlemanly Michael Falzon and Ninu Zammit are.
You would expect it from somebody like Zammit, but Falzon? How very disappointing.
In 1994, the PN backbencher Lino Gauci Borda resigned after the newspaper Alternattiva broke the news that he had GBP48,000 in a UK account, which had not been declared to the tax authorities in Malta.
Gauci Borda was going through a particularly ugly marital breakdown at the time and his wife, who had taken up with somebody else, grassed on him.
Gauci Borda resigned his seat in parliament days later.
Times of Malta (see below) points out how Ninu Zammit and Michael Falzon, who were both on the front bench at the time, stood by and watched as their backbench colleague walked the plank over an undeclared GBP in a UK account when all the while they knew they had far, far more than that in Swiss accounts.
That’s exactly the sort of knaves they are.
