So what is she going to do about it? It seems to me there’s an awful lot of people who are yearning for a new political grouping but dare not articulate their wish.

Truth be told, I am one who believes that the current political system is no longer sustainable. It simply is not working.

In theory the system was designed to work, but Malta has lost all values except that of money, and therefore the only guiding principle is now money in the bank.

There are too many private and personal interests in the political system. Contractors are in a position to use their big money to run the administration systems of political parties.

On the subject of the environment, let me propose just a couple of revolutionary ideas:

      1. Set the changes to the limits to land development zones in the Constitution or similar to it, so as to require 2/3 majority of the House to change them.

      2. Impose a new substantial tax on the use of land in ODZ. Anyone developing in ODZ will be penalised from the start.

      • H.P. Baxxter says:

A property tax. Other countries have it. Imma ahna dejjem IZJED Ewropej mill-Ewropej, le? This is microstate, for fornication’s sake. Land is at a premium. Has no one read The Rum Diaries?

I have no doubt at all that both political parties suck up to the construction industry in the most terrible of ways, ie to the detriment of Malta.

Just look at the last 35-40 years and hand on heart tell me that at least the Nationalist government stood up to the construction industry at any point.

For that I cannot forgive the Nationalist government. Unfortunately for Malta, the Labour government has the same vice, and of course many more.
