Building a school as a PR initiative: how very cynical

Oh, I really must vote Yes to allow these people to carry on shooting birds in the breeding season, because look how sweet they are, they’re going to Ethiopia to build a school for all the little poor children.

I don’t think.

Why are these men presenting themselves as hunters?

It strikes me that they’re going as builders, not as hunters, and in fact it says right there in the story that they are all specialised in different construction skills.

Their cynicism is unbelievable.

No doubt they will have built the school and got it ready in the six weeks or so that are left until the referendum, so that they can fly back and vote.
