Manuel Mallia’s birthday party hosted by Paceville lapdancing boss Frankie Grima – prime minister among guests
Paceville bar owner and lapdancing boss Frankie Grima, who once shot a man dead with a submachine gun he just happened to keep behind the counter at his Bamboo Bar (now closed), and who has over the last 15 years opened and closed one restaurant, bar and lapdancing club after another, hosted a birthday party for ex-Police Minister Manuel Mallia at his Casablanca bar.
In one of the photographs I have received, Frankie Grima is seen presenting the ex-Police Minister with a magnum of champagne while Mrs Mallia laughs and applauds.
In all the photographs, Stephen Ciangura – a soldier who has been up on GBH charges for an assault on a young man whose jaw was broken, while he was moonlighting as a bouncer at Gianpula, the nightclub owned by Malta Today boss Roger de Giorgio – is seen standing at Frankie Grima’s back.
It is not clear whether he is a guest at the party or is now moonlighting as Grima’s bodyguard. Until recently, Ciangura was on secondment from the Armed Forces of Malta as a personal bodyguard to Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, even serving as his driver on grocery shopping trips to Pavi supermarket.
The prime minister was the most prominent guest.
