Police Constable Paul Sheehan, who is currently standing trial for shooting at a man while on duty as the Police Minister’s driver, was on the catamaran to Pozzallo on Friday with his girlfriend DolcieAnn Farrugia nee Micallef, her brother Police Inspector Gabriel Micallef and his girlfriend Woman Police Constable (is the W really necessary in this day and age?) Carmen Gauci. Both Inspector Micallef and WPC Gauci are married to somebody else.

WPC Gauci’s private car was parked alongside Minister Mallia’s official car in the tunnel that night. It is not clear whether she was in it or whether her boyfriend Inspector Micallef had borrowed it to whip down and lend support to his sister’s boyfriend PC Paul Sheehan. He was photographed standing with him in the tunnel though he was not on official duty there.
