How Barts and The London is promoting the Malta medical course
I don’t know about you, but I find the background to all this a little bit curious – especially the student accommodation in new-build flats.
But purely at a human level, they should do the decent thing and let prospective students know the truth instead of talking about varied social activities that don’t exist unless you take several buses and a ferry to the other island: that stuck on Gozo day after day throughout the autumn, winter and spring – a place that is mind-numbingly dull even for middle-aged people – and having to overnight on the main island on the weekend to see any decent sort of action will mean they’ll be slitting their wrists by the time the first year is out. And it’s not as though they can socialise on such a tiny campus. Anyway, read on, and the link is below.

From the website:
The programme is taught on the Maltese islands in Europe’s Mediterranean Sea. The three major islands which form part of the Maltese archipelago are Malta, Gozo and Comino. These islands are located between Sicily and North Africa.
The university campus is based on Gozo and is where students will be spending a large proportion of their student life. The campus will include a brand new student accommodation building and the Barts and The London Medical School, a purpose-built school housing teaching facilities located next to Victoria (the Gozo capital). There will be an Anatomy Centre adjacent to the Gozo Hospital which provides space and resources for all students to undertake anatomy practicals amongst other clinical activities.
Studying medicine is certainly demanding and intensive. However there is still time for students to enjoy the wide range of activities and clubs available across the islands.
Students can enjoy:
◾Many sites of historical and cultural interest
◾A varied cultural scene: arts festivals, concerts, theatre and cinema
◾Outdoor activities: trekking, climbing, windsurfing, diving, horse riding, tennis, football, golf
◾A Mediterranean climate, welcoming and picturesque islands
Students also enjoy peace-of-mind when it comes to personal safety as the islands offer a safe haven for both locals and visitors.
Student Accommodation
Finding the right place to live is important especially if this is the first time students have lived away from home. Student accommodation will be available near to the School in new build student flats on the edge of the town of Victoria (Gozo). Additionally, there are various hotels, holiday apartments and farm houses to rent nearby.
