Hunters build school in Ethiopia and Henley & Partners gives $1 million to the UNHCR

PR Newswire, a company which releases press releases and PR statements for members, has something interesting out today.

Henley & Partners, which has been receiving some rather bad rap in the serious press as a mercenary exploiting “impoverished countries” by selling their citizenship to unusual characters for cash, has done the classic public-affairs image-rescue thing of donating a large sum of money to a high-profile cause which is the reverse of what it does.

So, because it is selling passports to tycoons for cash, it has donated money to the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (people without passports).

How cynical can you get?

And it isn’t really a large amount of money at all, but roughly the price of one Maltese passport.
