Armada Floating Gas Services Malta Ltd and Armada Floating Gas Storage Malta Ltd – the company structure
Armada Floating Gas Services Malta Ltd and Armada Floating Gas Storage Malta Ltd are the companies that will be operating the floating gas storage unit for Electrogas Malta (Delimara power station) under contract for 18 years and two months.
The indications are that they will also be selling the gas storage and services to third parties outside Malta, using the Malta floating storage unit – hence the prime minister’s talk of a Malta being ‘an energy hub’ and his constant liaison with the Baku dictatorship on how Malta can serve as a fulcrum for the sale of Azerbaijan’s gas.
These two companies are fully owned subsidiaries of Bumi Armada, the Malaysian company which, under a deal signed yesterday with Electrogas, will be converting an old LNG tanker for use as the floating storage unit.
