Former nurses union boss officially appointed adviser to Konrad Mizzi
Paul Pace, who was recently voted out of his long-time post as boss of the nurses union, has been officially appointed adviser to Health Minister Konrad Mizzi.
The first reports were that he would be 1. head of a new nursing school, and 2. CEO at the Health Ministry.
There was anger after both announcements. A compromise seems to have been reached, but it’s still a Taghna Lkoll ‘position of trust’.
Suffice it to say that the last adviser that the government appointed for the Health Ministry was Bahamas Dalli, who gave a hospital records computerisation contract to his one-man-band friend and chaos ensued as he made a hash of it.
Konrad Mizzi’s office said that Pace will “advise on the recruitment of nurses”. This government, I’m afraid, is now spoofing itself.
