A hunter shot a protected kestrel at lunchtime today, and it fell bleeding into the playing-field at St Edward’s College, which was packed with boys aged seven to 10, who were horrified.
Teachers then had to deal with the situation.
The hunters’ lobby, wishing to limit the damage and protects its interests, has called for the “criminal to be brought to justice”.
