His girlfriend, Super One reporter Janice Bartolo
Justice Minister Owen Bonnici has gone to this evening’s vigil for dead migrants with the Super One reporter for whom he left his wife and child, Janice Bartolo.
They stood together immediately opposite the press and television cameras so as to be directly in the line of focus. Ms Bartolo was standing about normally until the cameras began rolling. Then she wrung her hands together and put on her best ‘wicc tad-duluri’ expression.
They were surrounded by migrants, one of whom was sobbing wretchedly. When the cameras went off, so did the Justice Minister and his girlfriend, neither of them so much as bothering to speak to the migrants or offer a word of comfort.
