I love this tradition business. It must be the only tradition you can count back for just two generations.

Those people I saw out celebrating yesterday looked like their parents and grandparents couldn’t even afford shoes let alone guns and ammo.

The only people who were shooting birds three generations ago were ‘is-sinjuri’, who had both the time to do it and the money to do it with.

And bar a few notable exceptions, they’re the very ones whose descendants are against hunting now.
